Colin and Reko do not forget to talk about the attributes dialog box that is on the bottom near the levels and color where you can pre select or post select a group or type entities then change the color, level, and (if lines, arcs, or splines the line weight and style)(if points the point type). This is something a lot of people forget about when changing a group of surfaces, lines, arcs, splines, solids, or other types of entities. Very useful and quick way to change things without having to do them one at a time if looking to change many things about the entities in a file. HTH

No problem we have a validation tool in our Catia Product. There are many ways to validate the translation the biggest process is documentation of the process and then a way to audit that process to be compliant to the customers who are requiring you to follow this process. If you would like to send me an email I will be glad to get you some more information. One cool things about any company buying Verisurf is they get a built in PAS. We have the NIST digital artifact test built right in. The test is compliant with Boeing DPD/MBD requirements that the software is preforming it task correctly. Anyone doing Boeing or other Aerospace work is already familiar with this requirement. Now you could spend a ton of money making up everything needed to preform this task or just get Verisurf and have it directly a part of your CAM system since we are a plug into Mastercam, have inspection software, reversing software, and Analysis software with one more bonus of being able to read MBD directly from Catia file if you buy the Catia Translator. Yes IMHO you need permission the more the better. Have him give you Admin rights to the C drive on the local computer, but keeping you a power user for the Network he can still limit where you can go and what you can do but limit problems when using the programs. HTH

John, that was a free product we have for V9. We not longer have that. We do have a the free fonts that you can still access through X4 once they are installed on your computer. You can download the fonts from our forum in the tech area but will have to register. Thanks Robert I will look at when I am back at V & M on Friday. I am seeing funny things with post variables used with $ or like the pf that other version never had a problem with. I will keep stabbing at it on Friday when I get back to V & M and report back what I come up with.

32 bit might without a nethasp it quite a chore. I can get it to open with XP Mode, but accessing files seems to be a problem. I was looking at installing it into the program files directory verse on the C drive since it looks like Windows 7 is playing nicer with programs if they are installed there just have not got to that point yet. I will post back if I can test that today. 64 bit very very unlikely. Sorry it is what it is.

Best way to get your feet wet it take a tool and then save it to a Level. Now modify it to your needs. Welcome to the forum. BTW all Caps is considered yelling around these parts.

The hole Axis is more than a Chook at this point. It is an addition to the Mastercam environment that allows the user to take any cylinder in a model and make a Axis or Vector line, a circle the diameter of the hole, and point. You have several different options with this free add-on to Mastercam. There is also some other free tools in there for creating points and vectors. You can access them from the Verisurf drop down that loads in when you install Verisurf or you can add the buttons to any toolbar you create you own. Here is a topic I talked about this in. Linky:

Well we have a 30 day evaluation in which you can try out the software. You really want to take a scanned mesh outside of Mastercam to then have some other software create you something that you have to bring back into Mastercam to use. I am not sure what device you are suing but we work with a lot of the 3d scanners and if you have an ARM with a scanner attached to it then you could use Verisurf to not only reverse the part but then inspect the part all right inside of Mastercam. We can take a laser scan and convert it to a Mesh. That then can be converted to a surface that then can be turned into a surface. Again we work inside of the Mastercam environment. None that I have seen. It does limit the colors to 256 but no real draw back in that. It is not photo quality, but with screen shots why do you need that? HTH

Well we are an authorized reseller for them in the United States. If you downloaded our Free Add-on then you will see a MBD tab show up in the operations manger. All of the Catia MBD will show up in there if you bought the FTA/MBB option when purchasing the Mold-Plus Catia translator. If you wanted to try our MBD tool you have 30 days to try it out. Ok does it store to the 522 variable? Does everything else work? What I normally do if call my system variable then assign it to my probing variable then do a condition statement back to check the system variable of where the machine might be. Granted this is limited to Fanuc controls I have done probing for. Do you have a macro book with some examples?

Yes one of the by products. I will say you do not have the ability to edit them or create them and for the small price of the MBD tool it is well worth that ability to assign you own 3d MBD to models. Glad you are having some benefits and like the product.

The All and only are the masks you were use to in V9. Once you have decided you want something to be like you want can then save that mask and recall it if you would like. HTH
