  1. Scott did you try the hinstall in the common folder with the HASP unplugged? I assume you tried to use it in a different USB port. I guess it is possible the hasp just died.
  2. ITAR part so not allowed to share. Thanks for the offer. I always use binary when messing with STL's thanks for the tip though.
  3. Don we are working in X4 all the way up to 64 bit mode on Windows 7. We just released X4 SP5 that has tons of new features. IMHO it blows V9 out of the water in many ways. The Reporting, Analysis, MBD, support and other things are really top notch.
  4. Get Verisurf since it works perfect inside of Mastercam and takes the arms place into account when aligned to the model. We give you the ability to align the arm either using the Auto-Align from your model or feature align from features measured on the model. We will be at WestTec this year booth 2608 and I will be there Tuesday and Thursday. Our software allows you to measure to the model real time using the arm. This real time measurement gives you the error right there on the screen. You can also use it to do 1st article inspection in minutes then create the report. We also have tools that allows you to do reversing, analysis, and other tasks. Again the best part is we work inside of the Mastercam environment you are already familiar with. MBD is our strong point since we take the MBD data and display it from Catia right on the screen placing it in a tree in our MBD tab. We also work directly with MoldPlus using the translator to bring the model and MBD directly in. When MBD is tied to the model we use that in our analysis to give you the error and quality of the part. Someone from our company would be glad to stop by and give you a demonstration using your arm with our software if you would like. Also if you would like a 30 day free trail send me an email and I will be glad to provide you a link to download.
  5. Reko we are a Inspection product that works inside the Mastercam environment. We allow you to use devices like the Faro tracker to inspect your parts to the model. We have a very good and long relationship with Faro and work with all of their devices. We allow you to check measurement, deviation, true position, profile, and many other things required in a quick and easy way. With that we then give you several different ways to report that out to then show the floor, engineering, source inspectors to any others that might need that reported back to them. The really nice thing is we work inside of Mastercam and have a Catia translator that brings in all the FTA/MBD so you can see and check to it using Verisurf. I trained a company a couple week ago and one of their guys just commented back to us "I have learned more in one week of using Verisurf than I did in 1-1/2 years of using ??????". I am proud to work for Verisurf and the product we have to offer allows shops and companies to reduce the bottle necks Inspection use to be. If you would like some information please let me know and I will be glad to have one of our Regional Sales Managers get in touch with you. If you would like to check out our Web Site please do so. www.verisurf.com Glad I could shed some light on the WCS for you and think as you use the WCS tools more you will wonder how you ever got along without them.
  6. You asked about putting the origin in the center of that box. Remember once the WCS is created in way you want you can easily move it just by clicking the Arrow select in the Box where the numbers are. HTH
  7. I guess the next question is where do I get this right? Look here: Look for the Download here. HTH
  8. Reko take a look at our FREE Verisurf add-on for Mastercam. We have WCS tools in there that make using WCS a lot easier than the options Mastercam give you. You can see many of the options we give you. The WCS is really and simple concept the problem is applying it in a real world environment. Best way I use to explain it to people I teach is look a box. A box has 6 sides and if you wanted to machine text in all 6 sides of the box you have 2 options. 1st Option would be take the box and then move it to each View thus creating 6 copies of the box to do the work. This could be done with 6 levels or 6 copies on the same level. Pretty easy concept to follow and before WCS this was juts how you did it. Now if you want Z to be on top of box for every one then not only would you have 6 copies but each one would then have to be moved to have the Z0 correct. Now by the time you were down with all of this it took you some time to do this. Step 2 with a file for example: You have this block out in space that needs this engraving done on all 6 sides. Now you try to use the cumbersome tools from Mastercam to set a WCS, but you get problems if you use solid face since it will put the Z inside the block and not be rotated the way you want. Example here: So if you go down this road you have to rotate and rotate until you get it right. Now lets try this same method using Verisurf's WCS by 2 lines. So we pick this method from our Free tools for all Mastercam Users. We first pick the X axis line near where we want our origin to be. Example here: Now we pick the Y axis line again close to our origin and the cool thing as anyone nows in Geometry 2 line define a plane and by picking the X+ and Y+ with the 2 line we also picked Z+ that quick without a lot of extra work: Example here: Then assigned we can rename 2 line Top in our WCS View Manager. Example here: Now we just do the same all the way around assigning our WCS according to where we want the origin and done. Now we apply our toolpaths based off each WCS and not out programs are all Just like example 1 expect we have one model, one level with our model and saved our selves a ton of work. I also posted this code. The sample file from scratch can be downloaded here: Box Plain The Mastercam file with complete WCS and toolpaths: WCS Box MCX File The NC code from this File using Mpmaster from In-House:NC Code
  9. Dave you have to install it to get the list, or ask your dealer and see if they will email the list to you. HTH
  10. We have seen no problems with Verisurf and MU3. If you do run into anything please let us know.
  11. Do you have admin rights to those computers? Is this by change Windows 7? Have you looked at the Mastercam web site for any information about system setting that maybe you have not set-up yet? Might try installing .net 3.5 first from the Microsoft web site. Welcome to the forum. Hope that Helps you out.
  12. Also check that the NhaspX.exe program is not set to Hasp, but is set to NetHASP. If NetHASP is on then make sure it is not local, but on network. Then make sure he can see available licenses. If not the IT department might be block his account access to the computer where the NetHASP is located and this would also not allow him to use the Mastercam. HTH
  13. Using Mastercam you set the 1.78333 taper angle and you have a tapered pipe thread. All you need then is the gauges and you are done. HTH
  14. We have Reversing capabilities with STL files. Using our feature capabilities with STL we can create shapes and commend features from STL files as well as give you smoothing and percentage reduction of triangles in the STL to improve the quality of the STL file. Please feel free to email me and I will be glad to supply you with information about our products.
  15. Most shops in the colder parts have climate control and keep their shops warm so they do not need coolant heaters. That is the problem with So. Cal it really never gets cold enough to warrant keeping a shop a certain temperature until you got work that does then most times it is hard going in that direction. I have used chillers on coolant, but never used heaters and think it is really going to come down to enclosing the machine to control the whole environments temperature the manufacturing of these parts is in. Did you get my email??
  16. My kids like Wall-E so I put that on my computer for them, but yeah I like the movie it was good to be able to watch something with the kids we all could watch.
  17. Ok Dan maybe after the New Year we can do a Go To Meeting so I can show you how Verisurf will help you with those STL files. Glad you are back up and running.
  18. Did you try the X4 full install? MU2 might not have enough to repair. The Full install of X4 should do a repair and then you can do the MU2 again to be sure it sticks. Email me if you run into any other problems. [ 12-21-2009, 10:16 AM: Message edited by: Ron Branch ]
  19. My coworker was working on a fixture program. Yesterday and everything was done. He came in today and was going to make the set-up sheet. He gets the following error. Error Reading File. Click Ok Unknown Operation. Click Ok Error Reading File. Click Ok Error Reading File. Click Ok Cannot open file: C:CNCM2059JIG-100.MCX It is a file from a newer Mastercam version or is not a file format recognized by Mastercam. Click Ok. Now all of the solids and level and geometry show up, but all the toolpaths are gone. Has anyone have a clue what is going on?? I have told him to start over but this is something I have never seen goo all they was back to 2 days worth of back ups. He has back up from the after noon of 2 days ago and the morning of yesterday and all 5 do the same thing as the original. It has been sent to QC, but I am pretty upset he has lost 6 hours work of work. Oh and I did not realize I had my Verisurf Name up this is for V & M not for Verisurf.
  20. You will need to reinstall the Mastercam doing a repair and that should take care of it for you. If you look in our Tech Tip on the Verisurf forum you will see you have to use the Reverse Tab in the operation Manager to brings STL's in once you install our Add-On. Here it is from our Forum: With the introduction of our Add-on for Mastercam X you will find that you can not bring STL's into Mastercam if you are using Mastercam for programming. Anyone who uses Verisurf only, this is something you are familiar with in V9 where you imported STL's. In version X when using Verisurf Add-ons for Mastercam, STL's are now brought in differently. This will show you how to import them into Mastercam STL entity. You will need to go to the reverse tab in the operations manager. In the top right corner is the Open or Import data Cloud button(1st Picture). This can bring in 4 different types of data(2nd Picture). Now if you want an STL to be inside of the Mastercam you need to export to CAD. To do this you need to right click on the STL in the Reverse operations Manager. You will then click on the STL mesh to export it to CAD.(3rd Picture) Now you have a STL that will work inside of Mastercam if you have a need for it.
  21. There are different arms and that is loose for even the biggest arm. Smaller arms are accurate to .0006 and the bigger arms are accurate to .0026. It is like anything use the right tool for the job. Arms are a great addition to any shop and by having them you allow bottle necks associated to inspection all but eliminated. You have the ability with Verisurf to make report see the part on the screen in real time and get feedback right there and done. The older arms had some accuracy issues but the newer arms rock and with a laser scanner and Verisurf you could just about reverse engineer anything you wanted.
  22. Are you using a B-Rep or can you bring the IGES directly in? Virtual DMIS allows you to attach the model the the active coordinate system based off how it was saved. Look for a assign coordinate to model and then see if you can change the matrix of it. HTH
  23. Well they have all types of arms and you might be surprised how much a set-up cost. Cool thing about Verisurf is we work inside of Mastercam. You can see real time on your model where the problems are. You can do it anywhere in the shop the arm and computer will get to and are not tied to just checking parts on your CMM or with traditional measuring tools.
