  1. you can also use project-blend with only one curve and a point. try drawing a circle and select the circle and the center of the arc. great for making spiral like toolpathes.
  2. might look something like this: pretract ... ... ... if mi10 = 1, [ "N5000", e "M43", e "G28H0.", e "G50C0.", e "M01", e ]
  3. are you asking about Pro Manufacture from PTC?
  4. first and foremost MC is a CAM product. SW is much better for product design and blueprinting. having said that, you definitly need MC solids if you are dealing with solids. MC solids allows importing, manipulation and creating toolpath based on the solid geometry.
  5. definitly make sure you install all the MC patches in order. Nov03Maintenace(if you have maintenance), Dec03Translator, Jan04Solidworks, then Feb04SWTree. that should work.
  6. you can create the edges curves of any surface. go to 'Create-Curve-One edge' or 'All edges' and select surface.
  7. bob, i looked at the file and was able to project the B fine. I saved it back as bbakguitar-SFA.mc9 . All I did was a 'Create-Curve-Project', picked the solid, then window selected the 'B' and projected normal to the Top view.
  8. keith, cnc had some screw ups in how it handled the drill point. the latest releases and patches have fixed the problem. you may still have a problem but it would be post related. if you want, you can email me a copy and i'll take a look. if you do, explain why you are emailing, or i might just delete you as spam.
  9. i've had great luck repairing messed up installs, just by going thru the patches again in the correct order.
  10. K, you need to install the Nov03 maintenance first, then the Dec03 patches, then Jan04 and finally the Feb04 SWDirect if you want it. all patches must be done in date order. CNC Software is working on a March04 Maintenance release and then a CD that covers all patches thru March 04. you'll have to ask your dealer for the CD when it is available.
  11. come on jimmy, you know you'll be swimming in chris' pats shirt
  12. george, now you are making me jealous. hopefully business keeps picking up and i can afford to upgrade.
  13. i've got a dell 8200 with the ati mobility radeon 9000 w/64mb. not bad, but still a problem with shaded models. causes a lot of problems with Solidworks also. might be better with the new ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9600 PRO Turbo, but i'll still probably opt for a nvidia next time.
  14. george, check out the mpmaster post that you can download off this site. it has sections in it to make up the stock definition for products like predator virtual CNC and Metacut View.
  15. when you install the swdirect on a pc with sw, it adds a drop-down menu for 'mastercamdirect'. you may need to turn it on under 'tools-addins'. there you can launch the file into MC or do the 'File save'. in MC, to read the SBF file, access the chooks and run 'mcdirect'. the swdirect also needs to have been installed on the MC station.
  16. an sldprt brought into MC with 'Convertor-Parasolid' will be a dumb body. the new SWdirect adds a 'File save' option in the 'Mastercamdirect' menu. this will save a SBF(Solid Binary File), which you can 'open' in MC. press Alt-C and run the mcdirect chook, which opens SBF files, and you get a solid with the feature tree.
  17. david, the number is 1-860-875-5006 and ask for Customer Service.
  18. by the way, you need autodesk design assistant installed to read IPT and IAM files [ 01-07-2004, 05:26 PM: Message edited by: Steve Biehl - Services 4 Automation ]
  19. it is in the converters-autodesk then select the file of type pull down and dwg/dxf/ipt and iam are there.
  20. probably just a debug feature that they didn't turn off. doesn't seem to be cycle time, way to low on a couple that i checked.
  21. there is a 'Canned text' button on the tool parameters page of an operation, that can be used to put M0,M1 and a few other codes 'before', 'with' or 'after' a tool change.
  22. M.O. do you run V9.1 sp2. if so, you might want to try installing the Dec03Translator patch. the patch updates the SAT and other translators and might fix the problem.
  23. you would have to put in some logic in the area where it outputs the 'M09'. pretract #End of tool path, toolchange sav_absinc = absinc sav_coolant = coolant coolant = zero if sav_coolant = 1, coolant = 0 if sav_coolant = 2, coolant = 5 #Mist off if sav_coolant = 3, coolant = 6 #Tool off #cc_pos is reset in the toolchange here cc_pos = zero gcode = zero ....
