Dave,
of course it doesn't have the 'live status', at that point you are already on the next entity. I use Multi-line mostly for drawing when I have the numbers I want to type in. i.e. drawing a 100mm square, hit space bar for fastpoint, type 0,0 enter, space bar, 100 enter, space bar, Y-100 enter, space bar and so on.
pip, you can do it both ways. You would use the WCS system if you want one model with 2 machine groups. In fact Lathe has a WCS of World Z = Lathe Z so that is a quick way to orient most of your lathe wcs'
there is another thread here on the problem. Mastercam knows about it and will address it in future release.
to fix it now, in config turn autosave on. set it to a very large time interval if you don't want the system to do autosaves. turn on the prompt for file name check box.
if you are running X/X2 the txt file is not used or needed. A psb is a portion of the pst that is compiled to protect it. The pst and psb need to have the exact same name.

axela,
with no machine def loaded in you MC, open you machine def thru 'Setting'-'Machine def manager' and use the upper left icon for 'Save as'. Save with a name to reflect that it is 3 axis only. Then delete any rotary axis components from the lower right corner list. Then save again as the 3 axis machine def. You would then have 2 machine defs that use the same post but the new one should post with no A0.
pip,
like Andy says you should be using the & symbol.
If mi1$ is not equal to 1 AND mi1$<>2 AND(&) so on then mi1$ = 85
if mi1$<>1 & mi1$<>2 & mi1$<>81 & mi1$<>82, mi1$ = 85
with X or X2 you don't select posts, you select Machine Defs. X2 Mr2 removed all the machine defs from the dropdown of 'Machine type'. You need to 'Manage list' and select the machine defs you want to see.
If you have already loaded a machine def and want to change it, go to the properties of the machine in the Toolpath Manager, and under the File properties, select 'Replace' to pick a new machine def.
from the notes in the top of a generic mill-turn post,
"# The right or left side view are the only legal views
# for face milling. The view number 3 rotated about the X axis as a
# "single axis rotation" are the only legal views for cross milling
# except for axis substitution where the top view is required."
So all cross milling paths are made in planes that are rotated about system X from 'view number 3' or the 'Back' plane.
zDog,
the default of backing up and writing the log file is not on by default. I had to turn them on in configuration.
Can this utility be used to alter paths of the files also? Seems it can only rename the files, not change and update the references to the paths.
