  1. Thanks to Rose at CNC, here are the jpgs from Mastercam 2005 calendar - they make great wallpaper!! Download the 2005calendarforweb.zip Enjoy!
  2. That's a good tool to have, thanks Matt!
  3. I always use CIMCO FTP software for these network ready machines. Maybe you can get a 30 day demo copy from your dealer to try it out. (Not a free software like WS_FTP LE though)
  4. Try this, turn on Windows Firewall (Local Area Connection Properties --> Advanced --> "Windows Firewall" Settings), make sure "Don't allow exceptions" is unchecked in the "General" tab, then go to "Exceptions" tab and use "Add Program" button to add "WS_FTP LE" to the list. You may not need to reboot the PC, but I'd reboot it anyway. -just another suggestion.
  5. You are very welcome, the three ports that I gave you are all the ones I know. Do you have to enter the IP every time when start up the Client or just once after allow the ports in Firewall? I still think you might have better luck to allow "DNCMax4.exe" and "DNCAdmin4.exe" rather than allow the ports.
  6. Here is how I add programs to the fire wall: Thanks for the web space, Chris!
  7. "...it doesn't use TCPIP at all, and that it uses the serial ports to communicate licensing. true or not?" - No, that's not true, serial ports are used for machine communication, TCP/IP is used for Server/Client. Try the ports I gave you in my last post.
  8. I'm not sure why you coudn't allow by executable name. In SP2 Firewall setting, under "Exceptions", you could either "Add Program" or "Add Port". But since you have to allow by ports, try these: 4442, 4444 & 7219
  9. By the way, have you tried to disable the firewall for DNCMax4.exe and DNCAdmin4.exe?
  10. A few things to try: 1. Make sure you are able to ping the server from the clients. 2. Make sure DNC-Max Server is runing. 3. On DNC-Max Client, go "Setup" --> "Configure Client" and make sure the checkbox for "Never connect to remote servers" is unchecked. 4. On DNC-Max Client, go "Setup" --> "Select Servers". Do you see the server there in the window with list of the machines (check the boxes beside the machines)? The Server should be there with a bright green light, if it is not there, try the "Rescan" button or "Add" button with server's IP address. 5. Did you reinstall DNC-Max? If so, make sure the client PCs did not have DNC-Max Server installed. All Clients and Server should be runing the same version of software and key file. HTH, Ying.
  11. Hard to say without knowing the alarm that you were getting. Some Mazaks don't come with DNC options "out of the box" (mostly on Lathe).
  12. Then it become a "Black Art"
  13. Add [image] before the link and add [/image] after the link (without any spaces), for example: If the url is: http://www.emastercam.com/ubb/mastercam.gif After add the [image][/image]tags, it become:
  14. Take a look at Mpmaster post and look under "pfxout", "pfyout", etc... add * in front the variable is a way to force it output.
  15. Just got back from another road trip and saw some of the comments here, well, here is my $0.002: All Canadian Mastercam resellers do DNC communication services for their customers and we are very proud of it! At In-House Solutions, we have a DNC department just to support all our customers as well as our Mastercam dealers across Canada - in case you haven't noticed how many companies in Canada are now using DNC-Max as their choice of DNC solutions along with our reseller network's services. That's right, I'm not a salesman, just a tech guy who has done or helped on many of those installations himself! For Canadian customers, check out our dealer network at http://www.mastercam.ca/resellers/index.html (and call them if you have a DNC question or problem), if you are outside of Canada, be sure to check with CIMCO (by click the link at the bottom of the page) before you choose a DNC system. Shop around and see the truth for yourself!!

  19. CIMCO's DNC-Max supports Windows CE. Just a FYI.
  20. KWOLF, Just got back and saw your and Anthony's emails. (On the road all the time) Special protocols in DNC-Max are very easy to setup, as you did with the Deckel 11 LSV2. It works right out of the box when you matched the settings such as baud rate, stop bits, etc... As Allan mentioned, DNC-Max works in remote mode, so you will not need to send file from DNC-Max PC. Here is a few things to check: 1. In the protocol setup, there is a place for setting up the file directories, make sure the file that you want to drip-feed is in the folder where "Machine program source directory" is set to. You might see things such as $MACHINE, $DATA in there. Just click on it and the "Real path" at the bottom will show you where the file path is mapped to. (These $ sign variables are the best for setting up multiple machine, you can also select or type in the path that you want.) 2. Once you have the file in the right place on the PC, then you can drip-feed it from your Deckel Dialog 11 contorller. I cannot remember the steps off hand but you will want to specify file name on the contoroller (so that DNC-Max knows what to send) before you press the DNC button. 3. Try with simple file names such as 1234.nc to start with. Note that you do not need to type in the file extesion on the controller. (In this case, just 1234, not 1234.nc. The file extension is set under the protocol setup, under "Filenames". The default is ".nc" but you can change it if you want to). 4. Hardware handshake cable is the way to go with these machines. You are all set there! Anyhow, just some suggestions. HTH. [ 05-07-2003, 04:00 PM: Message edited by: Ying Jiang ]
  21. Your Mastercam dealer could help you out on that, they might need your post (pst & txt files), a sample MC* file and a marked up NC file (with the changes you want). [ 02-07-2003, 11:12 AM: Message edited by: Ying Jiang ]
  22. Software such as Vericut or Virtual CNC has them (in STL format, I think), see if can find someone who's got one of the software. [ 02-06-2003, 12:06 PM: Message edited by: Ying Jiang ]
