  1. if I remember correctly it should look like this fs 8 1 4l
  2. I feel for you Mike. I have been doing the same since January and I had to find a job last month. It seems like my best freinds that have work take advantage of me the worst. Very dirty game this business.
  3. You dont need a translator, they're speaking french.
  4. Thank you everyone. I will report what I learn. Billy
  5. Hi Press, Nice to hear from you. I heard you left the farm again. Are you still @ AOL? Billy
  6. I am getting ready to start a copper job. Can anyone recomend cutting tools? Carbide or tool steel. also will be using side mills. any help on speed and feed?
  7. i made points at the new job, I got a broken machine running. whoopy with my baby. a couple of new parts. a fool of myself. and my fingers hurt from tying too much on this forum.
  8. you can specify a file with manual entry. It is only available with the toolpaths. I use it for little inserts in my nc file.
  9. an interesting note. make sure the program has neither the ta,1 or the dnc. then you can mid start a file. From the machine control type dnc,3200,enter (starts at line 3200) then go to your computer and send program . it will search modals and pause at that line number. press start.
  10. WCS seems like just what you are looking for. The verify from one file becomes the stock for the next file. I think it is the best thing since solids. Our other programmers agree.
  11. WCS is the ticket. I just learned to use it and it is wonderful. The verfy from one file becomes the stock for the next file. The best thing since solids. I really am excited about it if you couldnt tell.
  12. I have found that you must get your customer to put in the purchase order that they will buy the part to the cad model. normally they will give you a blanket tolerance and list only the critical dimensons. I have had some customers that only use cad files. If you get a chance look at Verisurf.com The software runs in mastercam design. i use on my cmm. it is also good for inspection arms and laser trackers. It is very easy to use for mastercam people but the owner of Verisurf is a wiener.
  13. how deep is the hole? For those cheap criterion heads I like to take a solid carbide em shank and solder a nice coated insert on the end. just grind plenty of relief. and put a nice sharp corner on it.
  14. Hey Phil From the spelling on this topic. I'd say you are the only one here that went to school
  15. LATHE-MILL Sorry, no Hass. I have never worked on one. I could modify fadel or fanuc for you. Just try one of them and tell me what to change.
  16. For fadel check out bfad9.pst from ftp. Don't forget bfad9.txt. Fanuc version available upon request. It uses the same tool list.
  17. I have found that drilling is better if you double your normal chip load. It seems to evacuate the chips better. If the chips don't come off of the tool they will cause many problems.
  18. Does the value of last_op_id change anytime?
  19. Rekd I get error message for last_op_id . Do you have a list of these op_id variables? Billy
  20. Does anyone have a cool routine for putting M00 in program. It should look something like this. G91G28Z0M5 G28Y0 M00(CHANGE CLAMPS) G54 G90G0X----Y----S---M3 G43Z1.H--M8 Manual entry will do most of it but I still have to edit the offset numbers,x,y and spindle speed
  21. Thanks Chris m. It worked like a charm. Billy
  22. how can i change the .nc default in the post page?
  23. see John Billings at postprocessors.com he's a real nice guy even though he went to ucla
  24. Try the bfad9 post on ftp. Don't forget the bfad9.txt file. pay attention to the misc integers and reals. let me know if you like it.
