notso, the line doesn't have to be perpendicular. tangent works just fine. I think it will work with arc also but I always use a line. (an old habit)

I think I have something. I developed an apt post a couple of years ago. I have never had anyone test it in real application If you like I can upload it.

I have just seen recieved a new tool to make surfaces from points. It is from Verisurf. If you send me the points I will create a surface and send it back for your review.

if the toolpaths are already done you can click on t/cplane on parameter page and change the cplane,tplane and wcs then regen. pay close attention to the changes and backplot to verify.

thanks stork. hey rob, how long did it take to draw the wireframe? I think to really appreciate the use of solids you should put some fillets on this model and then compare the time difference. consider 10 minutes to make this drawing. now put fillets. the time to fillet with wireframe will probably take longer than the drawing. the fillets are almost automatic with solids. a few projects like this and i think you will be sold on solids.

I think it is a drafting note that has its associated entity deleted and is removing the association. -

Dave, Don't do it! In my career I spent too many years using wireframe. I couldn't draw to my own satisfaction and the fillets took way to long to create. Learn to use solids! It is the only way to go. I learned in a couple of months how to draw better than years of wireframe. Billy

d'andrea is the best one i have seen. big bucks though. about 10 years ago a set of 3 boring heads. 12",9" ,6" for about $25,000. used on boring mills and jig bores.

be aware, make sure you take extra to clean your ways often while working with fiberglass. I have seen it plug oil injectors and destroy ways. Also dispose of chips and dust. Don't blow it around if you can help it. very irritating to the skin and can hang around for years.
