  1. Thank you James I will call later today.
  2. quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ...i dont want to use mastercam... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi Jimbo, Welcome! It is clear you need help.As long as you are here you might as well learn to do it in Mastercam. Along the way you will find someone who knows exactly what you want. Let me know what I can do for you. Billy
  3. create surface swept chain one end for across contour 1 chain the other end for across contour 2 end select the big arc for along contour. set tolerance
  4. try bfad9.pst from ftp. don't forget bfad9.txt. billy
  5. I have used renishaw probe with infared sensor on the fadal 2015. I made the macros to set position from a tooling ball ,bore, boss or corner of a part. I used Verisurf to make the toolpath and to collect the points for inpection. You need to laser calbrate your machine like a cmm. I used it to collect 3d points from a surface. As mentioned before, it will save you a trip to inspection. Very cool thing Billy
  6. try post bfan9 from ftp. don't forget bfan.txt
  7. I use 1006 when I want to leave the parens.
  8. you can use manual entry. I check the 1005 and change the line in my post. if gcode = 1005, pbld, n, pspc, scomm if gcode = 1006, pbld, n, pspc, "(", scomm, ")" #Comments. Take off the "(" and ")" from the 1005 line. then put as many lines in manual entry as required.
  9. Jimbo, There are some guys that rebuild and sell used Fadals and will give you a service agreement. They are qualified technicians and I have used their service many times. They actually offered me a rebuilt 6030 with a 1 year service agreement for about $50k. And they are local.
  10. I have used the 20x15 fadals and I really love them. they have the box ways and seem to not wear out like the larger fadals. I realize this could change if you overload them. I was using 3 of them at my last job and found the maintainance to be less than the 4020's and much less than the 8030's. they are very accurate and don't lose that as fast as the larger machines.
  11. James, There are plenty of programs that have been around this place longer than me. It never fails that the machine it was programmed for is busy or has been junked or something and the job is hot. I find it is better to have anything that works rather than start from scratch.
  12. Hi dawg. there is a post called rpfan. It is for reverse posting. I could never get it to work at all. I have read some response on the forum about it but have never heard of anyone who is actually using it. good luck.
  13. try create-surface-trim-remove bndy
  14. I have a manual cmm with verisurf. I have used verisurf to program a fadal with a renishaw probe.
  15. try to untrim the surface and then retrim or extend
  16. As I remember. The process for programming a cmm was through a c-hook. As of early last year they were working on posts. I have used it for probing on a cnc machine. Billy
  17. Once! At band camp I stuck a coke bottle Oh I'm sorry It's not time for my vacation yet. And we don't even have any 160 year old houses here. Have a nice vacation. Billy
  18. go for the custom tap. I bought 2 12mm left handed taps for titanium for about $85.00 each. I tapped 50 pcs by hand. anyone need a new 12mm left handed tap. I forget the pitch of the tap. I think it is 1.25
  19. Pooh! I tried it and my post still comes out in g17. I can post in any plane I choose. I want a post that can follow tplane and keep track of the cutter comp and circular motion using by pointing the tplane. using the tlplnno and m1-m9 variables should be enough to make a translation cut "tracut" routine.
  20. yes that was d. you can probably take the l out sorry
  21. i am working with a right angle head. I have made a post that takes toolpaths from the top view and outputs to the right view. when I use the right tplane the code comes out in the top plane. I want to be able to progam in any tplane and have the code come out in same. I think it can be done using the m1-m9 variables. has anyone tried this yet?
  22. that is an L after the 4 for leave trailing zeros
