Hi Guys.
I need to 3D profile a part and I need a 8 micro finish. The part can not be polished, it must be machined in. Looking for formulas or other information to figure out Cusp-vs-Ball mill-vs-Stepover amounts. I can just guess and adjust from there but its a pretty big program. I hoping you die hard 3D Guys can. Thanks
Thanks Guys.
Mitee-Bite expansion arbors will not work for this application, the arbors are not high enough and the base is much bigger than I can use and to buy much larger ones and alter as much as I would have to, it's cheaper for me to have my lathe guys turn to what I want and then wire the expansion slots.
I've used Mitee-Grip submerged on my cnc wire. It held everything down fine but heating up the fixture to add/remove the parts was some what of a pain. The consistent thickness is ok it repeats with-in a couple thousands part to part.
Hi Guys.
Does anybody out there in (Milling) MC land know of a company that makes expansion arbors. I want to make a 12 pc fixture for a horizontal. The arbor needs to be recessed into the fixture
Mitee-Bite make some good ones but the mounting flange is bigger then the arbor I'm looking for one smaller. My I.D. is about 1.125 The parts look like shouldered bushings and I need to bump off the underside of the shoulder and expand on the I.D.
Hi Guys
I'm making a simple solid of which I'm going to rough out a angled pocket for ram edm. The problem is in the pocket I need .750 fillets on both ends (as if I was cutting with a 1.500 ball mill)and I'm doing something stupid because MC says if filleted it will remove a face. I put file on FTP site in the solids directory under Threept82. any suggestions from the solids Guru’s
would be appreciated. Thanks
Hola.
I have a job which would lend itself perfect for my cnc wire. Material is Tungsten. I've milled a lot of Tungsten and it cuts like butter but I was told to try and wire it is next to impossible. Do any of the Wire Gurus out there in MC land have any suggestions about wiring or should I try to mill it instead. The parts are about 1.75 thick.
G-10 (a.k.a. green death) is also toxic so if not using flood coolant whoever you have machine it be sure they have dust masks so they don’t breath in the dust.
You should be able to type in your information or comment in the comment block of the tool that cutter comp will be used on. In my post whatever I type in comes up just before the tool change and (with-in parenthesis)
I don't use Vericut I use something cheap, MacGen
which I use with Smartcam and now MC. At the price of Vericut I find it hard to justify but I don't do any 5 axis work but its coming. Who knows , some day.

I can not find a link to these books anywhere.
Nor can I find anyplace to purchace these books any longer. Not even on Ebay.
Maybe someone else has an idea as to where. Sorry.
I've found thats the best set of books that you'll ever need, when you need information on just about any material and I machine everything from Aluminum to Kovar.
You can always Analyze the arc and in edit change
the starting and ending angles to 90 degrees but thats one at a time. You want to default MC to always draw full circles starting and ending at 90.0 degrees?
I tried to have the company buy mine about 15 yrs ago(New owner now). They himmed and hawwed and said the company didn't need them so I bought them myself, the books come in - the owner hands me a check- I hand it back. (Oh Hell No)
