I can't find a stick or single line text in Inventor. Everthing comes into MC as a box type font. Like inventor, it comes into MC as one entity. You can't offset or select individual letters. You would only be able to move or scale the text and window chain for toolpaths. I also tried to import the text into acad and explode it with no luck. I'll check with the autodesk.

I'll do some playing in Inventor this morning and and see if I can figure something out. I'll try to create some text in a Inventor .dwg file and bring it into MC like that. This approach may work. I've never tried to bring in a inventor .dwg file into MC. With Inventor text, when you create text and place it into the file you don't have control over each letter with lines/arcs like autocad/MC. It groups it as one entity. You would think Inventor would be able to do autocad style text.

Inventor can create single line text in sketch mode but it must be embossed/extruded to show up in masercam on the model. if you don't emboss/extrude the text it will show up in the Inventor model if the sketch is made visible but then it won't come into mastercam. I don't know anyway around this so I've always re created it in mastercam also.
I have had the same problem since I installed X4 also. The installer comes up when I first start and when I do certain commands in Inventor. I've been busy so I didn't want to deal with it. it is very annoying. At least it seems to be an issue and not just my problem. If that's 2 of us I'm sure there is more
Hello guys
I have a lathe part I'm trying to get the WCS set properly to turn the part. I have a turn profile created and I just can't seem to get it orientated right. I've tried using help, but I still can't get it. It's bee months since I used MCX so I'm a bit rusty.
I was hoping someone could give me a hand getting this setup. I'll have to email you the file. I'm using X4 MR3
Thanks
I've tried full and partial profile inserts with the same results. I figured it may have something to do with the R. of the tip and geo of the insert. Just not sure
I contacted HAAS so we'll see if they can shed some light on the issue. The minor in the program is correct, but the threads arent close to the proper depth. As soon as I hear something I'll let ya know.
Hey guys, I've been having the issue with Mastercam putting a bunch of toolbars in my Inventor 2008 toolbar. It is on about 5 rows now and my sreen is way smaller due to this. I did a search and found what Pete said to do, go into the registry and edit some stuff. I'm not a computer guy or anyone here. If you make a mistake in the registy you can really hose things up. I have been working on a few major projects/assemblies with almost 600 parts. There is no way I can uninstall Inventor right now and possibly have other issues. I'm running X2 MR2 SP1. Does anyone know how to fix this w/o an uninstall or getting into the registry before I run out of screen?
Thanks
I noticed that a few times, I'd have to go back and forth a few times before it would stick. When I was at training a few weeks ago it happened then too. This was with X2 MR2
If I understand correctly you mean keep the tool engaged while having constant B rotation and not retract for indexing. I'm not sure about that one, I only have done it like above. You might check you stock S/U and your ABS or INC settings to get rid of the air cutting. Hope this helps
Try Top plane and create operation then rotate T plane for # of flats copy source operation. It's been a while for me also so I might be a little off. It should post out rotation 60 deg. for each flat assuming it is 6 flats.
Hey guys, is there a way to just type a text style in mcam that you can extrude to desired height? Or do you have to actually draw the text?
Thanks,
Mike
You may be able to do a polar tform.
for each groove try the same thing but with polar from & to you may be able to select the geo in between each groove to get the angle, not 100% positive though
If I get a few, I'll mess with it and see I can get it
Oh yeah, transform from point to point for each groove because the diameter changes, If you do just the first groove then do 50 steps it won't follow the contour.Hope this helped
Mike
chain the first groove, then transform the rest
I did an example for you with your part and it worked fine
it's in the same folder profile roll transform
