  1. Unreal Rick! I have to make changes to tool numbers now and then. Usually have to do it when I have to switch programs to a different machine. But I feel for ya man. It shouldn't be this difficult!
  2. Rickster, did that happen when importing ops or changing a tool number? I haven't seen that error yet. I had a tool at T3 and changed it to T4, green checked out of the tool manager and all the ops stayed clean (many times they will go dirty when changing tool numbers). I added a new and larger tool to the library and named that to T3. Everything looked fine in the tool manager till I hit the green check within the tool manager. BAM!!!! Wouldn't you know it, all the ops that were changed from the original T3 to T4 went dirty! I've had this happen on several occasions, but yet I can't get it to repeat all the time. It seems everything looks great in the tool manager, but deep in the bowels of this software, the tools I modified weren't actually changed!
  3. That did the trick Cam! Thanks!
  4. I have a long list of bugs jotted down, most of which have been pre-existing to earlier versions. I won't post them all here until X7 is released. After this thread has grown to a record, I'm hoping CNC will fix the issues and I won't have to publish such a list. I've been in a couple other shops setting up their workstations to X6 and clarify some issues they had with X5 along with giving them some programming tips. These are friends and former supervisors I've had in the past and they are fed up with the recurring bugs, but it's expensive switching to other systems. Not just the cost of the software, but training. Thanks to CNC, I've made some good side loot due to their bugs and poor migration between versions. Hopefully they will get it right soon!
  5. Neuro, same here. If I get rid of the stock model, the crashes disappear. But as I said in previous posts, it doesn't happen with every file. Sometimes you can change the tolerances a bit on the stock model and the crashing will also disappear.
  6. Mig, in you rest roughing operation, select "One other operation" and then select the stock model on the right. No need to reference an .stl file.
  7. Ok, just crashed regenning a previous stock model on a roughing op after making a change to the depth limit. Hahahahaha!!!
  8. Bill, for the most part, bugs you may have had in X through X5 may still be in X6 and that was my main bitch. I think it is certainly worth installing X6 because the crunch speed and verify is much faster with the 64-bit suppport. The stock model works well for most of my roughing ops, but can sometimes crash when finishing or display incorrectly with some custom tools. I just avoid using the stock model for most of my finishing ops unless I'm working with a small file. The bullnose support in the dynamic and optirough paths also work rather well. If you use the X+ Setup Sheet, you will have to wait till the new version is released since the X5 utility won't work with X6.(That is a deal breaker for several users I have talked to.) Just get used to working around the bugs like you have in the past and lots of good folks on this forum are here to help.
  9. Hmm, couldn't install it. Error window pops up and states: "Cannot download the application. The application is missing required files. Contact application vendor for assistance." According to "ClickOnce Deployment" troubleshooting errors, the problem is described as follows: "One or more of the files listed in the application manifest cannot be found on the server. Verify that you have uploaded all the deployment's dependent files, and try again."
  10. That is awesome!! Thanks alot CamMan! I've been waiting for that utility. A thousand thanks to David Colin!
  11. It would be a nice to have a checkbox in the "save file" window for that purpose, but I would hope CNC would NEVER default to write over the file. I would NEVER overwrite a previous version's file that way. I would want to make sure it worked fine in X6 first, then delete the old file.
  12. That may happen when using "Minimum Distance" in your linking parameters. Switch to "Minimum Vertical Retract" or "Full Vertical Retract".
  13. Did you download and install the latest release? http://www.emastercam.com/board/index.php?showtopic=65612
  14. Tony, how did you become a beta tester of X7? Hahahha
  15. Neuro, I don't want any bugs in my shorts!!!
  16. Nope Neuro, I think the benchmark thread has it beat. Do I win a t-shirt?
  17. I'm living bad dreams I can't run from you I'm living bad dreams This nightmare's coming true!!!! ~Judas Priest
  18. If I were a reseller, I wouldn't censor this either. They have to deal with this xxxx too! I'm sure they want the xxxx fixed!
  19. The biggest problem I have had with updating to a new version is the control def not updating to the new and correct post. It has ALWAYS pointed to the previous version's post and when you select the new post, it will change all the control def parameters to default. I progam 8 different machines. What a PITA! Most folks in the local area have the same issue. When I visit their shop after receiving a call that their upgrade isn't working properly, I notice right away that they have installed the software as instructed, sometimes by their reseller, but the control defs are ALL POINTING TO THE OLD POST. For all of those that installed X6, make sure your control def is NOT POINTING TO THE X5 POST. CNC still has NOT figured out how to do this right! I think they should just dump the damn control/machine defs and go back to a post only system.
  20. Ah sorry rick, I responded to quickly. Could that be a windows setting?
  21. It sounds like to me your control definition did not get setup properly after updating. Whenever you update from a previous version, I must ALWAYS reconfigure all the control def. settings manually.
  22. Open a new session of X6. Go to settings - config - post dialog defaults. Make sure the "ask" button is pressed.
