  1. Me too Mike. The data I have from the manufacturer weren't all that accurate on some of the holders. I measured the holders at the time I needed to use them instead of wasting a half day and measuring them all at once. After a couple years, I finally have a damn good and accurate holder database. I still may have to measure one now and then, but I'm just happy we have the ability to visualize these holders against our models.
  2. I created my own HSK libraries since I'm sure most manufacturers have their own custom sizes and I wouldn't trust an imported library if you are collision checking. Time to get out the caliper and the height gauge and start measuring.
  3. X6MU1 will crash for me VERY often when using ramsaver. I never had the problem with X5.
  4. Amen to your request Rick. I don't know of any way to change that.
  5. Good morning Gunther. I noticed the cycle time for the pencil path is inaccurate. The pencil path I just toolpathed backplots at 25 minutes and the setup sheet is displaying 4 hours and 40 minutes. I remember seeing this a couple years ago and you found a fix at that time. Thanks for a great setup sheet!!
  6. Found it. Thank you!
  7. Jim, where can I find the readme file? I've been looking and I can't seem to locate it. -Thanks
  8. Go to "START", "Mastercam X6", "MCAMX Control Panel Applet", "User Interface", change "File dialog style" to "Mastercam X style", "Apply", "Green check" and see if that works for you.
  9. Newbee, if i change the tool description within a tool path, i can go directly to green check or apply and check at a very fast pace and the toolpath won't go dirty. But, if I change the tool number, within the toolpath, all the ops using that tool go dirty as soon as I get done changing the tool number. It appears that changing the tool name will no longer cause the toolpaths to go dirty, but changing the tool number will cause you to regenerate.
  10. I always hit the blue cross before the green check.
  11. Found another bug fix, when reposting over an older program, a prompt warning will ask you to overwrite the file. Thank you.
  12. I'm still going to change tool numbers in the tool manager and reselect every individual tool in each toolpath and regenerate if the paths go dirty. Its the only safe way and I don't trust the competence of CNC anymore!
  13. Ok Rick, I did that, and the tool numbers changed without going dirty, but if i happen to select the tool within the operation after I changed the tool number, the path goes dirty. Weird... I have 6 toolpaths with tool #13, I right clicked on ONE of the operations and renumbered the tool number from 13 to 20 and hit the check. The tool number changed on that on operation, but didn't update the other ops using that tool and the tool is NOT visible in the tool manager. I posted all ops that contain T-20 and T-13. All the toolpaths were posted, but the code does not contain a toolchange for T-13! Again, modifying ANYTHING HAVING TO DO WITH TOOLS IS SCARY!!!
  14. Some things I noticed on day 1 of this MU1 release. Old bugs still apparent: 1) Ramsaver still crashes now and then. 2) Renumbering tools still causes toolpaths to go dirty now and then 3) Changing speeds and feeds still causes toolpaths to go dirty now and then 4) Coolant in the ops manager still doesn't display correctly 5) Changing a misc value causes toolpath to go dirty Fixed bugs with this MU1 release: 1) Importing ops from another part that include stockmodel ops imports without crashing 2) Screen no longer goes blank when moving geometry to a new level 3) Peel mill on WCS planes other that TOP comps the tool correctly 4) Changing comments on toolpaths no longer cause the toolpath to go dirty 5) Recalculate values button works immediately after selecting a tool
  15. The HST Rest Rough toolpath works great. I use it everyday. I thought there were issues with the HST OptiRest prior to X6, but I could be wrong. I haven't used the OptiRest, so hopefully someone else will chime in.
  16. We have a ton of HSS resharps in the bins that have been sitting there for years. If you're having success, I'll have to give it a shot!
  17. The toolpaths going dirty after changing feedrates or spindle speeds, especially when switching to a different machine definition is killing me. We are buried in work and I have been trying to repost to other machines when they open as requested. I need this fixed!
  18. Do the beta testers have a MU1 release yet?
  19. In the MCAMX CONTROL APPLET, Go to "User Interface" and in the box to the right, make sure the "File Dialog Style" is set to "Mastercam X style" If it is set to "Microsoft Windows standard", you may get that error. It is a known and logged bug with CNC.
  20. Rick, I created a new default file in X6 and have the same issue now and then.
  21. Bill, the issue most of us are having are different than your description. The stock to leave boxes magically change to .05. I noticed they can do it during crunching. You can crunch several toolpaths, think your good to go, but when you verify or machine the part, the cutter isn't touching the steel. Go back and look at your toolpaths and all the values have changed to .05.
  22. No, but it has been there for previous versions is what I should have said.
  23. No problem Bob. You were correct. The top sticky was X+ for X5 before the X6 version.
  24. Look at the top sticky on this forum.
