travis,

the way i look at it is any raise is a good raise biggrin.gif ,inflation is ussually figured at 3%a year so if your getting that every 6 months your making out like a bandit.like greg stated obove it depends on if your allready at the top or not.

Over the last 12 years, I averaged 2.88...% Per year increase. Now, sometimes it was 2 years between raises but more money is more money!

So to answer the question, in this day and age and in this industry right now 3-4% is reasonable. Now, what I would suggest, and I shoudl do this myself is to document how much money you generate for the company, if the figure is substantial engough it should merit at least some further discussion about merit increases. Don't forget to weigh in the intangibles though which are big for us at our company. Flexible schedule, usually nobopdy is standing over us asking when something is going to get done, vacations, bonuses, etc... Just consider everything.

My last was 7%.

Before that, they were sporatic, but generally well over 3%. If they weren't, I was typically moving on shortly after they were due.

I'm at work for the same reason most of you are; the money. If the money's not there, there's someone down the block that will pay it. wink.gif

'Rekd teh methinks I found a nice warm place to retire.

Enough to support 3 kids (and one on the way) and allow my wife to stay home with them.

James teh that's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

I'm in the midrange of that payscale, but I live

in one of the most expensive counties in the country. The only way to get a raise around this shop is to quit. If they like you they'll offer

you more to come back. If they'd don't and they call your bluff.....

GOing to the Doctor's today... Dr.'s talking C-Section, probably because she's got a golf game to get to and does not want to be late. Wifey does not want it and I don't blame her. Recovery time for anytime they cut you sucks. With the last one (born natural), like 4 hours after the baby was born she wanted to go home so she stayed a day in the hospital then came home. The day after she came home we were off to a baseball game. Poor guy... 3 days old and on the ball field...
