Is MASTERCAM X replacing completely the

 

MAIN MENU from MASTERCAM 9.1 SP 2 with icons?

I thought I heard you will be able to choose between the old familiar interface and the new windows based interface. Is this not the case?

no ...new interface only !!!!i think they learned from cadkey from years ago ..but im not 100 percent i heard this from this forum a few mounths back ...im not a beta tester

When I first saw the X interface, I was wondering...

And now I look at V9 interface and it looks very different, Very old like V6....

 

You wont need the OLD menu, and you will pick-up

very quickly on X.

In my knowledge it will have any other windows based like toolbar. similar to those in autocad or msoffice. Drop down menus are introduced. As far as old interface is concern a menu will exist with similar short cuts.

I hope I have not spoken too much, these are the details given in this forum in previous thread.

Overall it will be another king.

Welcome to the forum. Mastercam's Main Menu is not going to be where it used to be. There won't be a choice to use the "old" interface or the new one. One interface. Period. Talk to your reseller and they should be able to show you something of Mcam X.

this guy was ligit, I was a little leary at first not knowing who he was as he walk up to my porch. but the fact that the dog didnt chew him apart i figured he was an ok guy. Not only did he sell Mastercam but he had all the cad software a guy could want. but at the time I didnt have the extra 5$ he was asking for each cd

X requires an upgrade to a HASP4 sim.

I am not convinced that will change anything though.

It might make the prirates work a little harder,

but it won't stop them.

no kidding Gary, they have been working on it for a long time! We have been in beta testing for almost a year. These things take some serious time when you arent just "updating" but creating a new interface.
