Everyone,

I didn't see this posted anywhere yet, BUT,

Mastercam has released PREVIEW videos for X2 on Mastercam.com for all to see. If you interested in seeing what’s coming in Mastercam X2, please go here:

The videos include an X2 preview of change recognition, new high speed toolpaths, new surface extend functionality, system changes, new selection changes, and a larger general overview of X2. There are supposed to be more videos as we get closer to X2 release. So stay turned.

 

Also remember that the videos for X MR1 and MR2 are still available from the multimedia area of Mastercam.com here:

The Selection Changes and System Changes link both link (when saving) to a file called System Changes. I didn't try to play them directly from the site. So, they're either the same file or they're different files with the same name. I haven't watched them yet.

BTW, I'm getting over 1MB/sec download!

The new videos look great! They pretty much cover the new enhancements in X2.

 

Thad, you are right. The download link to Selection Changes gives you the System Changes file. You can see the Selection Changes video by clicking the "Watch video live here" button.

I like everything I see! Especially Surface extensions & tracking changes to imported files. I'd be curious though how well it works with solid files? They only showed a wireframe in the demonstration.

Finally, some things that I wanted. I can't wait till it comes out. So excited about untrimed surface extention and the icon for picking all surfaces. Way cool.

Is this a full new version? If so, is there any indications of when it will be released?

 

I'm trying to schedule training nowm, and if it's going to be released in the not too distant future it may be best to wait until then.

Maintenance covers all new releases and versions. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Yes maintence covers new relieses, I have asked my reseller, and he told me it was covered. Im looking forward to the new surface trim options and new toolpaths.
