Rust like stains

Hi,

 

I was wondering what if anything can be done about rust like stains from the coolant and how to prevent them?

 

I am using Trim E208 coolant.

 

I am using a Daewoo DMV3016.

Have you tried a stronger concentration?

You should choose a product with "rust inhibitors" in it. We've had great success with Castrols products. We have two type we use on a daily basis. 9954 full synthetic, and Alusol A water soluble.

 

We have found these two coolants offer solutions for many different materials.

you should get a rep to come in,they can test your water and take samples from your machine to get to the bottom of the problem.

some synth tool manufacturers will not warranty machine!

 

trim is frowned on out here

 

hangsterfers maybe better option not synth.

 

synth leave sticky residue and rust machine eat seals etc.

Hi,

 

I contacted Trim, they want me to send a sample of the coolant and water. They said to check the ground to the machine.

 

Does anybody use CIMCOOL?

 

We machine Aluminum, Copper, Stainless, Brass, Teflon, Delrin, Acrylic, Mild Steel.

we had a lot of trouble with staining on aluminum.

we also machine Aluminum, Copper, Stainless, Brass

finally had sucess with cimcool CX-590-CU coolant

We used to use Cimcool but now use Dascool 2003 from D. A. Stuart Inc. mostly because it's cheaper but simular. We started checking the coolant with a refractometer for coolant concentration and try to keep it in the 4-5% range. We've had problems with stains on parts, and the table being sticky with coolant like the water evaporated and left coolant concentrate. When we started changing the coolant more often the problem went away.

We use a water soluable and I have noticed that we only get rust if there is too much water in the mix. It is very important to use a refractometer to keep the mixture at the correct level. A skimmer also helps to keep the coolant cleaner and nicer to work with in general.

Make sure your using a refractometer no matter what you're running however.

+1 on Blazer. Its pretty non-toxic which is nice. Easy to take care of too.

Are you using city water or well water???

 

We have a huge issue using hardened well water. (softened well water does not work) We have to wipe everything down at the end of the job. We plan to haul in city water soon just for this reason.

Try DI water. We do and it solved a lot of problems. We also use the trim E 208.

I used trim for 6 years with many problems. We believe the chlorine content in the trim was the culprit. Switched to hocut, and would never go back. Ive had nothing but success, its the best Ive seen yet. I dont know how many coolants Ive seen over the past 20 years...

DI water works well. One problem with some coolants though..., they count on the minerals in the water for the coolant molecules to attach to, so if you don;t have the minerals, the coolant never mixes right. Talk to your local coolant professional to get the correct information and concentrations for your particular application(s).
