11 min on an e6850? That seems a bit slow to me. Isn't the e6850 supposed to be one of the hottest chips available?

I will be testing a overclocked Quodcore this afternoon.. Let you keys know the Core and setup after I am done.

Ok we over clocked the Quad core to 3 gig, but sense mastercam does not utilize multi processors we got 5min 40 sec times. Now for fun we ran 3 instances of the Test file and set the timer and got three crunching at one time and did all three in 5min 51 sec.

 

Running multi sessions is the way to go now guys.

I know this dont sound right to me and dont start flaming, but I just done this 3 times. The first time was 5:45, so I done it again just to see if I was freaking out or something and the 2nd time was 1:43 and the 3rd time was 1:43

murraymold - Did you adjust the tolerances to .0001? They are much looser by default. You have to manually change. Then try again.

Yes I did. They were set at .001 and I changed them to .0001. The only reason I done this is because I have been complaining about my PC being slow and my Re-seller told me about the Benchmark file so I thought I would give it a shot. I have been working on a 53Mb mold base and I thought my PC was slow, but I am happy now that I see everyone elses speeds.

New question, has anyone tried one of the fancy schmancy flash memory hard drives? I see they are an option on dells workstation replacement laptops. Does it or should it make it difference?

They are faster saving files and launching programs but won't make the benchmark run any faster. I ran the benchmark on 7200RPM drive then replaced it with a 10,000 RPM drive. The benchmark times were 5 seconds apart.

murraymold the two lower ones were most likey as you told it to regen again. or did you close mastercam down and open it again and start from scracth?

 

I know so far I have had one of or if not the lowest so far at 5 min 2 sec. I know that this will change and I hope it does.As someone will come lower as the Hardware gets better.
