5 axis project

Possibly only a 4 axis project.

I have an "A axis" and a "C axis". I have a model of a female form, from the neck to the waist. I need to cut this with my A axis swung at 30deg, and basically only use my Y and Z axis while turning the part with the C axis. I hope that made sens. All the paths I have tried up till now want to keep the tool axis tied to the surface norms, so the machine keeps using the x axis aswell. I need the X axis locked to the centre of the model. The problem is, when the machine cuts the spine of the woman it is like a valley and the tool keeps to the surface normals, and therby gougeing the other side of the valley and breaking the tool. An help apreciated. This is only a project, and if I get the right toolpath sorted I will post a picture of the finished part. Mcam X2 Mr2 SP1 Mill level 3

Create a helix around your model with the helix height being your step-over amount for surfacing. Do a curve 5-axis using this helix as the curve, use your surfaces as tip control, and vector the tool to a center point inside the helix (as Crazy-Millman suggested). Use axis limits to lock any axis on any angle you choose.

if its a 4th set up, use the new style 5ax - parallel to curve. have the curve drawn, (that will be your single edge), in the right view and pick your drive surfaces. use "titled with an angle", select the desired axis(Z) to be tilted about. this works pretty well, especially with the spiral option.
