Problem running X3 MU1

I just installed X3 on both seats and then tried to run the MU1 update and got this error on both.

 

 

Has anyone else encountered this error?

 

It occurs after you dbl click the mastercamx3-mu1-web.exe file.

I've seen this error when installing a totally different application, so I don't think it's mc related.

I'm running XP pro SP3

 

Did you try restarting a pc and reinstalling MU1?

I believe this fixed the problem for me.

No problem here, but we're running xp sp2. Anybody try this on xp sp3 yet?

i got this pop-up in about 30 min of inactivity

I am running Xp SP3

 

I am dloading the file again

 

I also check windows updates and found a net framwork 2.0 sp1 update.

 

I rebooted just prior to installing X3 software.

 

As soon as the MU1 finishes dloading I will reboot and try again(gimme 10 minutes)

the net framework 2.0 sp1 update seemed to fix the problem on one machine.. Or coincidence

 

my other machine has update to get before I see the 2.0 update

I don't think this problem has anything

to do with XP SP3.

We've got 3 machines here on XP_SP3

and Framework 3.0.

All 3 ran the X3 MU1 install with no trouble.

I'm running XP Pro SP2, everything seems to run good in MU1, I initially got the "Invalid or corrupt file" error when I went to run verify on the first file I opened, but it went away after verify was done. (The source was initially a MC9 file, don't know if that matters)

Goldorak - When you left the file idle, was there a Solid in it? Or are those surfaces in the screenshot?

gcode, your right.

 

I did the win update on one P.C. and not the other.

 

The first dload must of been corrupt. After Dloading it again, it worked on both P.C.'s

ok i found the cause but not the cure

 

i got it when i let the screensaver start

 

i set it to 1 min and every time i move the mouse to back to my mcam screen, i got this popup

open mastercam

 

CTRL+ALT+DEL > lock computer

 

unlock computer

 

now you should get an error message

I can't reproduce that either.

Since the message refers to Art, are you using any Art functionality?

Are you on a Hasp or NetHASP?

Did this ever happen with X3, or is it new with MU1?

When starting up M/C I get

File Does not exist

When I hit ok. M/C starts up.

Try this..

 

Go to Settings/Configuration and go to the 'Screen' page. Is 'Graphics support' set to 'GDI'? If so, change it to OpenGL.

it' already set to openGL , and disable hardware acceleration

Setting it to GDI is the only way I can get that message to pop up.

 

Let's try this...

 

Shut down Mastercam

Go to the Chooks sub-folder and rename Art.FT to Art.FTSave (anything except ".FT")

Restart Mastercam

You may get the startup warning dialog about function table entries not found (or something like that) but close that dialog and then see if the error occurs again.

ok renaming art.ft do exactly what you said

got the error message but no more popup

 

and setting my config to GDI also get me the popup automatically when I hit the apply button

 

maybe it's in my videocard setting , it'a a nvidia 8800gt
