Hello All,

lately i've noticed something weird going on with mastercam.

When it's doing it's Save function, things lock up for almost 30 seconds.

Either the main window or the operation manager displays not responding for this time and it is frustrating.

My computer is no slouch but still it happens.

Any Ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Lee.

My entire CNC career...10 Gig's....The Network will Burn you.

I work off my Local Drive and back up to the network.

"What if" there is an Eng. change?

1) Walk across the Hallway and ask / tell me.

2) Email me "Heads up"

3) Keep an Eng. Log file in that job's folder so I can see what changes might apply to my latest model.

4) I will put everything on level 1 turn it RED then put the new Model on level 2 turn it BLUE and Sniff around for the changes.

To this day it beat's working off the Network.

Not if you've got a fast modern network..

Our server has 9 1 terabyte hard drives..set up in RAID 5 (??) 2 run the OS, the other 9 save data .

Our workstations are hooked directly to the server, each workstation having its own dedicated line.

This setup is blazing fast... you really can't tell the difference between saving to the network, or saving to our local C drives..

All programmers run the same posts and tool libraies and have acces to all files..
