Another stock to leave Issue

I completely finished one mold half last night and ran the lights out 8 hour program

and if cut perfect.

 

The 2nd mold half is identical except location of drill holes , same geometry same paths.

 

I creadted a new toolpath group with n the machine group and selected all paths and

copied them to the new toolpath group, right clicked / edit selected operations/ change nc file name, nothing went dirty.

I reselected the geo for the drills and regenned.

 

Verified the paths and it looked rough so I checked the stock to leave and the were reset to .05 "

on walls and floors! Big surprise!!!!!!!!!

 

I go and check the paths that i created and ran last night and ALL THE WATERLINE AND SCALLOP PATHS

STOCK TO LEAVES ARE AT 0.05"!!!!!!!!!!!

So now I have a new bug to report yet I cant figure out when they MAGICALLY CHANGED.

 

It have to have happened from opening the file!!!!!!

I think the values are changing when reopening the d@mn file!

Shrink all models by .05. That way they dont have to fix it for X12

Yes it will change when you reopen it.

 

I have made some changes to the operation defaults that has helped, but I had to change it in all of the machines controls defs that used my operation defaults to get it to stick. If I just changed one machine control it would not stick.

This bug seems to expand its horizons and flourishes greater as you continue to use it.

Del, are you on maintenance?

 

Its like buying a new car that you are stuck with and cant afford to fix,

your warranty is on hold because you didnt read the fine print.

 

Warranty kicks in in 3 months so be patient and drive carefully until then!

Maintenance is not 1 year long any more, its from the last MU1 until they renewal date.

 

And none of us will get compensation for that if YOU choose not to utilize the software maintenance

Program.

 

IMO, CNC owes us extended maintenance(or a rebate on the current) for the time it takes for that MU release to come out.

I have this problem with ALL versions I am running of Mastercam X4 to X6. I sent this in to QC back in 2006 with X2.

I hope that what I changed sticks. Only time will tell.

 

I only have one Mach def and only one Control Def........

 

All I know to do is keep sending them to QC.

Yep sent it in again today, with the new evolved scenario that i encountered today

I've been working with high speed toolpaths extensively for 3 weeks and this has not happen to

me once. Don't know why, but I'm not complaining

Vericut has nothing to do with it???, no crashes here, it adds stock so no cnc crashing..... I catch this happening right after I regen paths and verify.....

or close and open a file that was fine yesterday.....or select new geometry/regen....or .....ahhhh

its a bug if it doesnt say in a memo from CNC Software to do it exactly a certain way or the 0.05 will magically appear.

on start up it should have a list of exact procedures or else.....lol

Nope and I've been doing a fair bit of mold cavity programmed too, merging in tools and ops, using the HSS tool paths, I don't dispute it happens Rick but it doesn't happen to me.

Well I am glad it's not happening to some

I took a file home the had a bout an hour of

Programming to go.

 

I changed a few things on the last components

Paths an viola, I now have the issues at home too.

 

I did not see it happen on opening, just on the regenning

Of 3 of the 5 that I edited. I make sure to use the tab

button and apply, always, (since x4 mu1).

 

Is there a way without reinstalling to extract the default

ops library and any thing else tha mite cure this from the install exe.

 

I gotta find a work around or solution while waiting for

The MU or SP update arrives.
