MULTIPLE SESSIONS

I have never noticed any major issues with opening one or two extra MC windows. However this does not seem to hold for X7. X7 seems much less stable with multiple MC windows. I think it is all of the added programs, Simulator, Tool Manager and Code Expert.

That would be nice if it were stable and had the option of multiple windows. We are doing some fast turn around engineering changes on some headliner molds, and the surfaces are causing my programs to process really slow, and or cnc supervisor wanted me to change a program one of our 2nd shift guys had done, so I had to go down and do it on his computer because mine was processing a program. And I hate doing that cause his is setup different than mine is, in the way of his buttons and mouse drop down window. I'm lost on his computer.

I've heard "rumblings" that work has begun on allowing multiple windows in a single session.

I showed somebody how that works in CATIA once and judging by the expression on their face, they had never seen that before.

If that runble is correct, that would be fantastic.

Has anyone else noticed how sometimes when multiple sessions are open (X7), if you close one, it sometimes closes all instances? I have had this happen to me quite a few times so far and I've only been on X7 for about 2 weeks at most? The delay in X7 close seems to be when it happens. Eg I close the one tab and while its closing, I click the other tab to go back to the other file and then they end up both closing on me.

YES - but this only seemed to happen on X6 for me, and I haven't had it happen on X7 at all. Worse was that I couldn't recreate it on purpose. it just seemed if I had one open for some time, then it would do it

Me was the opposite. I never had it happen on X6 but X7 I can re create it every single time.

Not sure how you get it to do it on X6 as there is no delay in the close operation. X7 takes a few seconds to close so of course its easy to click the other session while one is closing. X6, I can't move my mouse fast enough to the new session before the other one closes.

Yes, I have had that happen a few times.
