Installed Beta 2....

Ran Migration on Shared & My MCAMX files

 

Everything that should have updated did, moved my config & workspace over

 

All I had to do was set my config, as I rename one for my use, restart and everything was back up and running nicely....

 

At first glance, job well done guys on getting this nailed down!

I've just deleted the install folder for the last couple of beta releases and have had zero problem

When you make a toolpath on any side. Set all your planes as required then generate toolpath (NCI) .  Now turn on planes Allways = WCS, and regenerate toolpath.

The tool path is in a complete wrong position..

I am still having a problem with solids layout..mcam-X9  When I have produced my layout, as I require, I press delete view and remove the view that is no longer required, it marks it up in yellow broken lines.

When I then go into dimensioning layout, all the entities from the deleted view are still there. Mastercam is not deleting views in Solids layout..  Did have same problem is Mcam-X6. May be computer specific, as I have asked for help in the forum, but nobody else has the same problem.

I just got the notice today saying X9 pre-release version will expire in 2 days. Will there be a new beta to download? Anyone know when the 'official' release of X9 will be?

I was told X9 was being released on May 1st. I see on the Mastercam website it still says X9 public beta. Anyone have any information on this?

Production Canidate 1 was released last week

It's not concidered a beta, but not yet a formal release either.

If there are no major issues reported with the PC, it will become

the formal release.

So far my attempt to run the beta version hasn't been going all that well. I installed the beta release 1 and haven't been able to uninstall it. I have done a repair on it and tried uninstalling it from the .exe with no luck. Went back to a restore point but all that did was cause other issues. Now I'm down to re-installing windows in order to remove a single program. Needless to say I'm not very happy about this.

I have installed and uninstalled beta 1,2,3 and am on pc1 without any issues.

I'm not sure what you are referring to but I have tried everything to get it off my computer. Next step is either bring it to an IT company and have them try removing it or re-install windows. Either way it is going to cost me time I don't really have.

you have to download the beta from the mastercam website and Jim Evans has a procedure on how to remove X9 if need be,

also removing from your registry.

I downloaded it from the website, that doesn't help when I can't uninstall the previous version. I'm still not understanding what you are referring to. Seeing as there is only two ways to uninstall a program without digging into the registry and I have tried both. I don't see that being my issue.

Uninstalling previous beta/technical previews:

• Backup any files you may wish to save
• Uninstall any previous X9 build(s)
  • Open Windows Control Panel
  • Select Programs and Features
  • Right click on product you wish to uninstall and select Uninstall
• Delete the following folders
  • For Mastercam:
    • c:\Program Files\mcamX9
    • (Optional): C:\Users\your logon\Documents\my mcamx9
    • (Optional): C:\Users\Public\Documents\shared mcamx9
• Delete the following registry keys
• For Mastercam:
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\CNC Software, Inc.\Mastercam X9
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\CNC Software, Inc.\Mastercam X9

That procedure is all good as long as it uninstalls like its supposed to. Every time I try I get an error. I'm not having an issue loading the new version, I can't remove the old version at all.
