SOLID HELP

HELLO ALL!!!!

 

I WORKS OF PLACE,WHERE ENGINEER DRAWS ONLY 2D PARTS .IF I NEED SOME SOLID FOR MY PROGRAMS ,I MAKE MY SELF .

 

MY QUESTION IS CAN I DO THIS SOLID ON MASTERCAM ???If so, you have any ideas???

Yes you will have to use Helix and make multiple  single pitch helixes to start then its all about sweeping...

 

Sorry it appears thelix is no longer available...But create/helix works just fine.

 

Might have to get creative on the variable pitch chain once you make it and use some blended splines to make smooth transitions.....looks like you are in fractional so you have some room to play...

 

You can also add a bunch of control points and turn the whole thing into a smooth spline..

Yes....use your levels and use the 2d as a reference. 

 

If you could share the file we could give you some examples.

Your 2-d drawing in incorrect you must use the print.

This will give you an Idea where to start.

But I would use the dim's on the print

DO YOU MAKE HELIX FROM POINT TO POINT OR YOU Draw INDIVIDUALLY AND TRANSLATE ???

If you place a center point where each one needs to go you can choose that as placement point...I just did them one at a time and translated....

Next create the inside helix.

It has its own pitch dimensions...

 

By the print it is on a 4" radius and there are pitch dimensions there just like the outer 

 

Once you get the inner and out helex made we sweep the 1/2" x .650 lip and use that geometry to build a surface model then turn it into a solid..

 

Or we could do a loft we have to wait and see, sometimes it is easier just to build surfaces and solidify it.

Just curious, but from the first picture I'd bet my lefty that drawing was pulled from a solid. That was designed in house? That will be a fun part to make.

Your reseller can't help you?

reseller  can help me with toolpath ,said they can not help mi with solid .And here is my question ,this is normal????
