13k is about the upper limit on CAT50. Though I thing you can get a CAT50 BIG Shepard spindle at 15k but it had Face and Taper contact.

Hi all

I will proly wimp out long before 13000, but I am hopeing to run 3/4" MinIcuts (brand)

(1" deep and .200 step over)

750 diameter, 3 flutes

7,700 rpm ,,, 200 feed rate

.008 chip load

1511 Surface feet.

I'll put on my welding goggles in case of flames. cool.gif

Oh, Scott... I'd seriously consider Shrink Fit tooling if I were you. I wish I would have done that here. Course when we were setting up this cell, the heating units were like $17K. They've come down substantially to where I've seen them for less than $10k. WESTEC is coming up. I'm surwe you can get some great deals on tooling.
