License Error

There is a file in the root directory of Mastercam

nethasp.ini

Many times this file needs to be edited to allow the remote systems to find the server that is hosting the nethasp..

;;NH_SERVER_ADDR = enter the ip of server     ; IP addresses of all the NetHASP
; License Managers you want to search.
                    ; Unlimited addresses are possible.
                    ;
                    ; Possible address format examples:
                    ;  IP address:      192.114.176.65
                    ;  Local Hostname:  ftp.aladdin.co.il

;;NH_PORT_NUMBER = 475        ; Set the TCP/IP port number. This is
; optional. The default number is 475.

;;NH_TCPIP_METHOD = TCP or UDP        ; Send a TCP packet or UDP packet
                    ; Default:  UDP
;;NH_USE_BROADCAST = Enabled or Disabled; Use TCPI/IP Broadcast mechanism.
                    ; Default:  Enabled

;;NH_SERVER_NAME = <Name1>, <Name2>,    ; Communicate with the NetHASP
; Server with the specified name.
                    ; Maximum: 6 names, up to 7
                    ; case-insensitive characters each.

Make sure the nethasp on the server is set to network and make sure the individual systems have the NHASPX.exe utility set to NetHasp and Network

If it can see the server the Read button should show the license on the network

Another thing to check is in the registry under the following path: Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\CNC Software, Inc. you want to make sure Sim Type is set to N for Nethasp.  Changing it in the NHaspX should change this but I've seen it before where that change doesn't stick and the only way to make it stick was in the registry.

I'd love to know how the Nethasp internal license mechanism works. Sometimes I get "No XXX license found" even though nobody is using the software. When I run NHaspX.exe on my computer, it shows the license being active, but on another compute, using an identical nethasp.ini, the license is shown as inactive. Rebooting doesn't help.

The only cure is to unplug the USB stick and put it back again, or wait for an undetermined period for the license to become mystically released.

That's the machine that hung the license

The machine using the license does not show when you check on that machine

well its been almost 3 years since he posted that so im guessing that he got his answer by now, and if he hasn't i cant imagine he is still here waiting for one

That wasn't the point of my question.

I have similar problem. So, if he did find an answer, may be that could've helped me.

No need to bother quoting for similar replies in the future. Thanks.
