If you save from X3 to X2 you can only save geometry. All tool paths will be lost.

Steve, Make sure you install the vcredist first, then install X3. You might want to check and see if you have ADMIN rights like Todd said.

Yeah G I forgot you have to install that file first then install X3.

Jim, Can you say whether the ability to change the NC name and NC number in the OPs manager for Level 2 was fixed?

Colin, I had thought about BETA but we decided to let our maint. go since we felt we were not getting enough bang for the buck. So the BETA issue is out since you have to be on maint. to be a BETA tester. Thanks for the thought though.

Jim, Thanks for the info. My maint. expired on 10/31/08. I hope everything got fixed or Im stuck in X2MR2 SP1. Is there any pre-release info on what got fixed? Just wishful thinking I guess.

Would you happen to have Mill Level 2? If so its a know problem.

If it doesnt I expect them to fix it, not me having to pay again to get it fixed. That would be like me sending a customer a part I knew wouldnt function as intended and making them pay me again to fix it. For some reason it just CHAPS MY A$$ to pay for maintenance and get something worse than what I had. Then I have to pay for maintenance again to get what I had already purchased to work. If that's complaining then so be it. I'm not the govt., I don't have money to pi$$ away on something that doesn't work. And I'm sure if some of you had to pay for it out of your pocket it would be different. Its easy to spend everyone's money but your own.

Dont feel bad Rickster. Mine ran out last month, so I guess Im screwed again for 2 seats. In the last 2 years of paying for maintenance I have gotten X2 then had to pay for maintenance again to get MR2. I have refused to pay for maintenance any more until I feel its justified. I pay for it and get sh!t worse than I had and have to pay again to get it fixed. These software companies are nothing more than scam artists.

I could never get my V9 .HTML sheet to update to the X version. So I ended up getting one from in-house. I like it but its a PITA if you want to tweak something due to it being locked.

My suggestion is "WHEN IN DOUBT THROW IT OUT".

Ive had the feeling lately most of the new stuff that comes out is rather ridiculous. It is always full of bugs and usually kills the rest of the system. I just cant figure out how we are suppose to pay maintenance to get a new release that is useless then when your maintenance expires you get to pay for maintenance again to get a MR to fix what you have already paid for that didnt work. Just never made sense to me.
