  1. I would send it to QC attn: Chris Bell.
  2. Patrick, Does this machine have Mill level 2 on it. If so its a known issue. Here is a work around: Here is how to get it to work if you have Wire. If you dont have Wire you might try it with Lathe and see it it works. This work around will not work if you only have MILL. If you only have a MILL GROUP and need to change the NC NAME, you could insert a WIRE GROUP with no operations and put the red arrow in the WIRE GROUP, select the toolpath group in MILL with all the operations, right click in the op manager, EDIT SELECTED OPERATIONS, click on CHANGE NC FILE NAME and you will get the pop up dialog box to change the NC FILE NAME.
  3. Yup, My maintenance is out on 10/31 so I guess Im SCREWED again. I pay maintenace and get software I cant use. Not happening again. I was told it should be fixed in the next MR release. I was also told that could be mid October. Be lucky if its by XMAS. That is why I went back to X2MR2SP1. I do the same thing, program in X2 and verify the large files in X3. I keep X2 on the left screen and X3 on the right so I can keep with it.
  4. TIM ITS A MILL LEVEL 2 ISSUE. I fought this for over 2 weeks until Chris Bell and I figured out what was going on. So, I went back to X2 until X3 gets gets fixed.
  5. Tim, Its a Mill Level 2 issue confirmed by Chris Bell. Here is how to get it to work if you have Wire. If you dont have Wire you might try it with Lathe and see it it works. Hope this helps.
  6. I think getting a renishaw tool setter is cheap money for the time it saves at any CNC machine. M2C
  7. On Mine. M20 - Thread Wire M21 - Cut Wire Its a Fanuc BASED control. Its not an actual Fanuc Control. But I use a modified Fanuc Post from MC.
  8. Del, Here is my Program beginning. (FIRST THREAD LOCATION X-3.32555 Y.13902) D01=.0067 D02=.0074 D03=.0054 When the machine reads the above lines it inserts it into the offset of the machine. Then when the machine reads D01 it uses .0067 as the offset. And when it reads the S1528 it reads the conditions of what is set in the machine. These are coming from the power library I have set up in MC. You can also fix the post to read the registers from MC and have that inserted into the beginning of the program. The machine reads the registers and sets them accordingly into the machine. Here is a snip it of the program. ( SEMI FINISH AND SKIM DOWEL HOLES ) N194 G00 X-3.32555 Y.13902 N196 M20 N198 D02 S1528 N200 G41 G01 X-3.40907 Y.0555 N202 G03 X-3.44344 Y.14625 I.08352 J.08352 N204 M00 N206 G03 X-3.40907 Y.0555 I.11789 J-.00723 N208 G03 X-3.3938 Y.04262 I.08352 J.08352 N210 G40 G01 X-3.38224 Y.05894 N212 M21 N214 G00 X-3.32555 Y.13902 N216 M20 N218 D03 S1523 N220 G41 G01 X-3.40907 Y.0555 N222 G03 X-3.40907 Y.0555 I.08352 J.08352 N224 G03 X-3.3938 Y.04262 I.08352 J.08352 N226 G40 G01 X-3.38224 Y.05894 N228 M21 We just load and go. If you need to tweak the offset you can do it in the program. If you have the regidters in the program you could tweak them in the program as well.
  9. I never set anything in the machine Del. My programs run straight from MC. All the power stuff is read from the program and the machine loads it automatically. We just load a program, set 0 and go.
  10. I didnt know WIRE had a level 3.
  11. I would steer clear of an AGIE and get a FANUC. M2C
  12. quote: However, I am an idiot so I likely don't know what I am talking bout anyway I thought were getting out of the CLIQUE Pinky.
  13. quote: Our Agies guy said that they are owned by the same people so they strongly recommend PEPS with the machine. That is true. PEPS used to be (havent seen it in a while)the best software for Agie machnes. ESPRIT used to very good as well. Esprit for the wire side is not as good as it used to be IMHO. PEPS is good depending on the AGIE machine. Not sure about any other machine but MasterCam does a good job with Fanuc controlled machines. Roger Martin is the man when it comes to POSTS for a wire machine. I would say they have post for about anything now days. The older Agies used to be a PITA when it came to post. But I havent messed with an AGIE for a few years now and HOPE I never have to again.
  14. From Chris Bell: quote: I was able to duplicate the bug using Mil 2. Mill Entry, 1, and 3 all have the same right-click menu but 2 is different to accommodate the “Multisurface Pocket” and “One surface...” strings specific to Level 2. I logged this as bug number cnc00038890.This is a problem with Mill Level 2. I want to personally thank Chris Bell for his VERY VERY HARD WORK on this.
  15. And it works GREAT too Ernie. I put it in my RMB and its simple too.
  16. quote: but i am not a post guy so maybe someone here can guide you better. Most of the POST GURUs have now left the building.
  17. Then they would unload me another one. Or all sorts of HELL would be raised.
  18. Hell its never stopped you before.
  19. I still for the life of me cant understand that. Why can you not bring in older versions? I can understand not doing the toolpaths but why not the geometry, surfaces and solids? I makes no sense to me.
  20. G, Mine are larger than X2 as well. But if I enter 12.3456 it does show as 12.345 but if I click on the drop down box it shows it to be 12.3456 then when I click the drop down again it is highlighted blue and shows 2.3456. I think the numbers are correct but you just cant see them all because they are larger. Is this the same thing you are seeing as well?
  21. You can export data from a tool library in either of two different report formats. Detailed report You can create a document that contains a detailed report about each tool in the tool list area, so you can print out or review the tool information outside of Mastercam. This information includes tool names, material, size, and all other parameters entered when the tool was created. Open the Tool Manager. Right-click in the tool list area and choose Import/export tools, Detailed report file. The Specify File Name to Write dialog box opens. Enter the name of the file you want to create or choose an existing file and choose Save. Mastercam creates a text file with a TXT extension. The file will open in your default text editor. Summary report You can create a document that contains a summary of the information found in the tool list area, so you can print out or review the tool information outside of Mastercam. For each tool, it lists the tool number, tool type, tool name, insert info, and turret. Open the Tool Manager. Right-click in the tool list area and choose Import/export tools, Report file. The Specify File Name to Write dialog box opens. Enter the name of the file you want to create or choose an existing file and choose Save. Mastercam creates a text file with a TXT extension. The file will open in your default text editor.
  22. Export them to an Excel sheet make the mods and import back into MC.
