  2. are you trying to set the Dprnt to out put cycle start and cycle end in the code? and I figure you want to collect it out the RS232 port as it is sent back.
  3. Colin, Like everyone one else this such a nice Chester like you said with everything going on in the nation and the holidays are here and many folks can use any help they can. I thank you from me and my family.
  4. I have to see if it will work in X9 but as Ron stated it needs to think it is a closed area. so you can create a stock model with temp walls so it will thing it is closed and do the Multiaxs rough against it to get what you need.
  5. So this what you want you want to start in the clevis and go back from there. using a stock model and machining against it will give you that. Here is my picture. Also my Mastercam file. look at my stock model and path. Optirough Test-cadcam.mcx-9
  6. Start by making sure your whole profile is laying flat to the the same plane.
  7. Thank for the update. great tool to have. I have mentioned this to many customers along with students during training.
  8. Oh sorry I missed this to (Available levels of MarterCam?) not sure what the going levels are on MarterCam , they may have the same levels. but I think they are more willing to Marter with you on the price. lol
  9. That really seem small. I go with Ron on this. but a question is this steel and are you coming back after to do hard milling then this amount makes sense. But you are using a small tool. I would still go with at lest .001 to .0015 for finish let the tool have something to bite on to.
  10. It coming along not ready for prime time just yet. Here is a screen shot for the DMU60 eVo I was showing at the last Mastercam user group.
  11. Ben it is Mill Entry, Mill and Mill 3d there is no Mill 2d as that used to be level 1. now Mill is a equivalent to what was a Mill level 2 . Lathe is Lathe Entry and Lathe.
  12. James new machine coming in supports it and if it does he wants it added to his post. were Mastercam does not have the option for surfacing or 5axis to turn on and off cutter comp. I would see this as an option Misc Values to out put for this based on the post and machine.
  13. With the Machine sim work being done is going to force a lot of changes including changes to the backplot support. I can't say to much but I can verify what watcher said that there is a lot work going into Machine sim.
  14. Watcher, I could see with Cimco DNC and then have MDC and we can have them log in to setup as they are programming and setting up the machine. So now you have logged the operator and Machine and the clock is running. now you are now logging the time. so when they hit the start on the machine the programming has ended and we have a time that is in the data base to bring up later. just quick thought. Now we are logging run times after that.
  15. I am with Ron and Colin, I have used a lot for Horz work and 4th and 3axis for years. I have been teaching using the transform for many years at the schools I teach at. Now I agree with Colin that the mirror option has been the one to bit me over the years. It is a better tool these days. I still am a little shy about using it at times. Dang I remember using transform back in the early days a lot as I am acting like it was a really long ago but V6 for mold cavities.
  16. Pete, thank you for this I will download and use it. I am glad my thoughts came across as thoughts and not put downs per say. Nice tool for sure. Colin, thank you for the insight makes sense. I hope you all have a great weekend.
  17. This looks good. but do you think the info outputted to the code be in parentheses ? Also when you create these fields like Programmer why does not out put that instead of say output-1. Don't get me wrong this is a nice tool and I could not make something like this. I see me wanting to use it but, the issues I stated is what stopping me. Keep up the good work.
  18. Use the HST paths and you can machine against stock models all day. from the roughing to the finishing and actually use Stock models not STL files. Remember you can take a few surfaces for example and make them a stock model and machine against them.
  19. I would try contacting some company's and say exactly what you said here. let them know up front I do not have it all but I am trying to get there are you willing to work with me as I cannot find any schools or places teaching me and I am HUNGRY to grow.
  20. At this time you cannot set an option to rotate the stock along the X axis. the best you can do is create the stock in MC for example and save it as an STL.
  21. Jeff go into Preferences and look under WCS.
  22. Well the cut outs are 2d flats correct. so all you are going to do is index to each plane and cut. if there are 3 equally spaced then do one and toolpath transform for the other two.
  23. I agree Brian, but he wants to be able to pick and include the center point for his chamfers so he can start in the center. so I was making sure as he thought he needed to go back and move the point around manually. I don't feel you are beating a dead horse as some time these little thinks we talk about help others to find other ways to do things and we all learn.
  24. I would look at this and upgrade the video to the M4000 and be a tad over budget. Later on add another SSD and up to 64 gigs of ram from the 32 gigs. http://www.dell.com/us/business/p/precision-m7710-workstation/pd?oc=xctomp771017us_3&model_id=precision-m7710-workstation
