Are you talking about actually using the Engraving toolpath option or you did simple engraving using contour? -
You will find a lot of us use these devices. I find it hard not to have one when designing or Programming. Now of course the bigger ones have more option and buttons but the one you are looking at the Space Navigation is the wired version of say the Wirless one that comes with two buttons. You can turn this it to 8 options easily. Here is an older video of what I am talking about. this would work the same in the new version and with the unit you are looking at.

To bad you did not take the new course for 2018 we covered many types of paths as the two are only to of many paths that we covered in the new one coming out. I agree Morph is a fav along with Parallel and along curve.

Not on the standard HST you would have to go to multiaxis and out put as 3axis. -
I think one thing that was never asked what is the current system what Processor ,ram video and so on. your stuff may be outdated and really the best move it to move to a new system.

Gcode I talked to them at SW World and also on the phone as they are looking into more connection issues with Mastercam. Hope to see some thing soon.

So Ron you like the Gnomon or you like Axis Lines for this reason? I like to have the gnomon to see all what you are talking about and can always tell were the Postive derections of the part are. Also when this is active that you get the Cplane and Tplane views so like you stated visual of what is going on. Were the axis lines give you min but a origin only This why I am asking and some of my thoughts.

I am really surprised to see so many still using the Axis Lines still. I find them useless and in the way. So why do some of you still use it? Is it because you always have used and just cannot see using the Gnomon?

Used Mastercam for cutting electrodes sense the beginning of my career as I started as a mold Maker. have many customers using Mastercam for theirs to.

That is strange, as when I did it I did not have anypaths and it said no paths so just checking the solid models. that is why I said why not this as it will do it without paths.

John why not change recognition. This shows both files and the differences. and you do not have to have paths on it.

The Direction tool is nice wish sometime had them in the HST. On flow if you are doing undercut paths this can be a must. was just teaching both these thoughts last night in class.

Jeremy, I do not have a way to keep unlocked. but do you know if you create for example at Horz Dim and select your points for the Dim and that's when locks it. At that point select the letter "K" key and it will lock and unlock at that moment so you do not have to go back later.

Really John? you would be surprised what I see . But just like Mastercam how hard do they lock the system down. I know that you have had issues with MC with not having Admin rights to all the mastercam directorys correct? this same thought.

Make sure you have admin rights to the CIMCOEdit7 folder located at C:\Program Files\mcam2017\common\Editors\CimcoEdit7

Have you contacted Mastercam U. I would say reinstall but I would cleared out all the folders and any Registries also before reinstalling. I have not had this issue with any of my students.
