  1. Hi Connormac, If you need to modify the STL, you could use the Xform - STL function. HTH
  2. If you are using the Import / Export function you will only be able to bring in the geometry associated with the toolpath(s). What you can do is use File - Merge. This will allow you to bring in geometry/ops from a file into another file. HTH.
  3. Hi Roger, Installing X3 MU1 did the trick....
  4. I know this posting was 2-3 years ago, however just ran into this same problem with another user. Wondering if someone found a solution..
  5. As well you can rename .Z2G to .Zip and then you can unzip the file with a winzip.
  6. check in the post for a variable max_speed. Its probably hard coded to 18000 HTH
  7. You will need to run MU1 for X3 to bring in Solidworks 2009 files
  8. FYI. Just had the same issue with another customer, the cause of the problem seems to be linked to the directory paths set in the config file.
  9. In Settings - Configuration, go to Toolpath Manager, and under the NC file uncheck the box beside Prompt. As well set your NC file to "toolpath group name"
  10. Cannot even get to the parameter page. The moment you select the entities and pick a start point, the user gets the message.
  11. Has anyone got a solution to this problem. I've had a couple of customers who updated to X3 and are getting the message "Cannot create operation" when trying to perform an engrave toolpath.
  12. Make sure you have the updated machine defintion, and that your default machine is looking into the X3 folder and not at an X2 folder as gcode stated.
  13. To update the .tools, .ops, .defaults in X3 from previous versions, what I found usefull is to use the "File - Import Directory" to convert the files needed.
  14. CNC pro, When you are selecting the entities, are you sure they are arcs ? Anaylze the arcs, and if they are splines that could be the problem. I am thinking that when you are creating the curves from the solids its generating a spline and not an arc.
  15. I have seen this problem before and I am thinking the solution was that those entities are part of a "group", therefore, you cannot change the colour unless you delete the group.
  16. Hi CNC Pro, One thing to check. Go to Screen - Combine Views. Make sure all arcs are in the correct view. If you are still encountering problems with the block drill send a zip2go to [email protected] and we will take a look into it.
  17. Hi Monty The key here is that when selecting your drive surfaces for toolpaths select CAD file and you will be able to select the STL file. HTH
  18. As well what you could try is to delete all files in the C:mcam9commontemp directory.
  19. FYI. I was getting the same error as Rick.. What I did to get the "$" font to appear is go into the C:mcmaxcommonfontsbox and extracted the files from the Box Lowercase X2 MR2.zip into the directory.
  20. Make sure you are using the correct tool as well.
  21. As well you can use Windows Media Encoder
  22. If I take a look at dropdown list in Masercam, the extension *.exp refers to Catia V4 Files
