  1. Right on, thanks Colin. Our shop has 2 Haas machines and we were told it won't be a problem. The big bosses want to know if it will work on the Hurcos in the main shop and our distributor and MC both said they haven't had much luck. Either way, when we get it installed and I have any issues or questions or local rep can't handle, I'll ping you
  2. Hey Guys, I have the thread milled, but can someone help me with the measurement over wires if I'm using .0550 wires? TIA
  3. Hey Guys,we got a quote for the Renishaw software for use in our Haas mills. When we asked our reseller about using it in Hurco machines, we were told they recently worked on a project for months and couldn't get it to work. Does anybody else know if the Productivity Plus will work on Hurco machines? If not Renishaw, maybe another probe mfg? Can someone move this to MT, Cutting and Probing?
  4. I never broached on a Haas, but I've read elsewhere that with spindle off it's a lot of force on the ceramic bearings or something. Somebody want to clarify?
  5. WHOA! Craziness Threw in the medical video for the coolness of it
  6. Yikes IGES . Can customer/engineering send you a STEP .stp file? Much more reliable and accurate.
  7. Treated the same as long as your thread mill DOC is greater than your holedepth
  8. We're due for computer refresh soon. It takes a few minutes to save big files Because I always forget about Stock Models Thanks Jay Re running my verify files worked. Also, I got lazy on OP3 and just copied a WCS and rotated the STL. Kaboom. All is well now. Thanks everybody
  9. How do I open as a mesh? I opened the STL file in a new session and it looks like a solid. EDIT: In the File Open options "Open as Mesh is selected" and the file looks fine. I'll run through and re run all ops and see what happens
  10. Getting chills thinking about tapping that. I can hear the creeak..snap or in the case of 4-40..TINK Threadmill all day every day. Any brand should be good. I run Emuge, SCT, Accupro.
  11. I'm on OP4 and I designated OP3 STL as my stock, but whenever I try to open verify, MC crashes. Can I reduce the quality of my verification STL file to prevent this or is my computer a dog?
  12. Careful in the vise also. It'll squish up and usually...OUT
  13. NM. Just dumped the .ini file into my editors folder also and I'm up.
  14. Last week, our Mastercam server was disconnected and moved to another. I was able to get my .ini file replaced so MC would function so I'm good there. Now when I try to post my program through Cimco, I get a "Mastercam HASP not found". I can program, but can't get any code out. Any ideas? TIA
  15. I have a bunch of text files saved and insert them as Manual toolpaths and edit the cycle according to the part. Attached is PDF that displays formats for the probing cycles. HTH Inspection Plus for Haas.pdf
  16. For me, when drills get under Ø.09, I peck the diameter of the drill. No issues, but it may take a few seconds longer.
  17. Same here, but 1st quote from AB Tool was $700 and it had to be carbide tipped, so we just bought an extra drill for $100.00 and will grind it flat bottom.
  18. Hey Guys, I need to put Deep counter bores in some Magnesium blocks. I found some HSS long drills on MSC. http://www.mscdirect.com/browse/tn/Holemaking/Drilling-Drill-Bits/Metalworking-Multipurpose-Drill-Bits/Extra-Length-Drill-Bits?navid=12106289+4288175036+4288243942+4288174924+4288243940 The C'bores are Ø.75 x 8" Deep sharp corner with .410 thru hole. It looks like drilling the c'bore and the thru hole isn't to much of a problem. Any suggestions on the C'bore tool to cut the flat bottom? Final depth is 7.7 Also, with no TSC, would a .750 - 1.0 peck be sufficient?
  19. Hey Jay, I used your parameters in my file in which I was previously using a plane for each group of holes in a 2D toolpath and the actual parts drilled correctly. The multiaxis drill worked and showed correctly in MC backplot, but the A axis moves in the machine were backward(opposite of backplot) Maybe that's a post or machine setting issue?
  20. Did that this morning. Been copying over some of the mods I had to my Generic Haas post, but some don't work. Thanks Jay, I'll give it a look.
  21. Most likely, but this is what I have NM, I see it's a Generic Haas post
  22. I am using MP Master but I don;t have that MI. I looked in the post and don't see it. Is this something I can add?
