  1. Okay got it. Is it necessary to make a plane for each hole, or can I make one for each angle? (2 holes per) Also, how can I stop MC from assigning a new work offset to each plane?
  2. Thanks man. Looks good. How did you create each plane? Use the hole-axis lines?
  3. Hey Guys, First time drilling with a rotary axis in my VMC. I included a sample file I'm working on. Do I use 5axis drill or normal drill toolpath with rotary positioning? I have a multi-axis seat. The current file I used 5axis drill. I tried using lines and surface for tool axis control. I tried hole axis vectors and points for cut pattern, but I'm not really getting anywhere and I keep getting the error below. rotary sample.mcx-8
  4. AH yes, Setting 108 Quick Rotary G28. I'll try it
  5. Okay, I went deeper into the MD and in the config tree turned, unchecked b and c axes. I finally got code and does this look correct? I just posted a snippet. From the looks of the code, it's going to have a hell of an unwind in the end, or can I set it to not? The last rotary move is : X-1.2402 Z1.9807 A91260. 6. Ok JP, I just moved the part to the system right side and positioned it how I want it, and changed the rotary axis in the OP to X. Motion and toolpath, retracts look great. I never used a rotary with my current Post and I keep getting this error: I unchecked C and B axes in the MD machine configuration. I still get the error. Do I need to turn a switch on in the post? I'm using MP Master Generic 4 axis post
  7. Yes, and got total craziness Thanks guys, I'm itching to get in and try these
  8. Right on Rocket, I'm over the fence working on the same program
  9. Hey Guys, Is it possible to surface the sample attached with a BEM and use 3 or 4 axis. I've tried a few Multiaxis toolpaths "rotary", "curve", "morph between 2 curves" When looking at my sample, the dashed green line extends to the origin so it's basically a can. TIA I have an HA5C rotary for this. Rotary Help Sample.mcx-8
  10. Probe as a chip fan...hm, glad I didn't think of it.
  11. REGO, Nikken, Command, Parlec...tons of them oh a source? Your local tool house/supplier

  13. I'm trying JPs Finish Blend Converted toolpath. 1st issue is the tool starts down at the bottom of the radius and works up. I tried reordering the chain selection, but it didnt help. Also, when I posted, I got the below error. Starting position
  14. Thanks JP and CJ. This multiaxis stuff is new to me so thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
  15. Okay guys, I'll try these. Thanks for the replies
  16. YES I should've said what's the best way to get this done with a 4th axis? Thanks
  17. Hey guys. Well, the job is back again and we finally have an indexer on order. (A axis) Can I simply activate axis substitution with this blend toolpath? I tried it and the tool is coming from the back and a bunch of other crazy stuff. Tips on where to start converting this into a rotary toolpath? TIA
  18. I like to keep my tools .01 above my hard jaws when doing vise work, although every once in awhile I'll keep it -.01 and it cuts fine
  19. Thanks everybody for the help. Part came out great. Jay, this is my 2nd time using Blend I'll def check out your video at home. It's blocked here.
  20. I added a sample file to the OP. I'm gonna run the blend. I extended 1 blend line over .015 and it looks better. Now to make a fixture and cut the darn thing.
  21. I used blend and got a toolpath going, but upon verify, the tool just doesn't travel far enough to finish the entire face. I think the drop angle may be messing it up. I attached a sample of the geo in question to the original post
  22. ER16 rigid and our coolant is kept around 9%
