  1. Is the position error on all axis? I once had a Y axis servo to ball screw coupler loosen. The machine would act similar to what you are describing. I put an indicator in the machine and rapid the axis back an forth a bunch of times and kept check in a known location with the indicator. If you describe your problem in greater detail someone else might be able to offer some more ideas.
  2. quote:I sure hope our new Pres. gets us going again I wouldn't count on that. Welcome to the forum. Ask away everyone here will bend over backwards to help. Just dont ask for a free post.
  3. Thats what Im talking about. Saturday morning and 4-5 guys respond in less than an hour. EMastercam rocks.
  4. quote: My boss got new computer the other day, went to run mc9.1 Welcome to the forum. Wow V9 to X3 thats a big jump. After you use X3 for a week or two you will never in a million years want to go back to V9. Are you having problems on the same computer MC9.1 is installed? To display the tool path in the graphics screen try selecting the operations you want displayed in the OM and press "t" To display the tool the correct length in verify try selecting the little folder with the red exclamation point and under options try selecting Tool Profile "As Defined". Tech support is open 24hrs a day 7 days a week 365 days year. It is this forum, most time I can ask a question here and have an answer in the time it takes to pick up the phone and call my VAR. If you want to talk to tech support on the weekends I am sure CNC could outsource all the tech overseas. Couldn't understand the tech but they would be their on the weekends. Hind sight is all 20/20 but I always make it a practice to install new software as early in the week as possible, that way if there is a problem I have all week to get it straighten out. I also try to start on smaller projects until I know for sure how the new versions work and how well I understand it. Would have of responded sooner but my 4 and 5 year olds were bickering and I had to break it up. HTH
  5. EMastercam can help make anyone look more smaterer. Thanks for all the help.
  6. I think your can press and hold enter to zip thru the dialog boxes. Hmm should read the whole post. At least you don't have to run it on a 64 bit system because it wont. Now that it is included with MC I doubt if it will ever be fixed.
  7. Key board editor Search for a key board editor, you might be able to disable key.
  8. When the chain manager opens right mouse button on chain manager then "Add Chain".
  9. I locate almost all of my parts from Z bottom. Before tool setters I used a 2" electronic height gauge. Y You need a place on the table or vise that will never change and will always be accessible. I measured the TLO from that position adding the height of the gauge. I use a lot of step jaws. I always used a work offset G54P48 that contained the difference between the location of the electronic gauge and the top of my step jaws to set my tools from. With the calculations set in the background I just have to enter the work offset from the top of the jaw ie. .100 jaws Z-0.1, .490 jaw Z-.490. If I am profiling around a carrier I use Z0.02 on the machine work offset, in MC I profile a at Z-0.01, I know that I am not going to hit the jaw. Another benefit of setting tools this way is If I have to calculate a height of a part I can place the gauge on top of the part, activate the work offset and the spindle tool TLO, handle down till the gauge lights then adjust the work offset so absolute to read Z part value plus 2.000. I the feeler gadget is and XYZ electronic you could set the TLO from you electronic 2". Then activate T1 and the work offset you want to set Z. Handle down and adjust the Z to read whatever your Z part value is. You do not need a reference tool with this method. All the tools are set relative to one another. Hope this makes sense.
  10. Adjust your filter settings and see if that helps the number A moves. F1500. is an inverse time feed rate. There have been several threads on inverse time.
  11. Make sure all of you "Planes" are correct. Is it a 4 axis path, WCS needs to be TOP.
  12. I fought this same issue, I fixed in my machine parameters. Look in you machine parameters and find where you tool numbers are are stored. Change the 0 to 25.
  13. Dont we have UNDO now. That is soooo V9 lame excuse.
  14. Running a Mori NH5000 the max feed rate is clamped at 200ipm. I need to go faster. Looking in the PDF manuals but cant find the parameter for max feedrate. Does anyone know which parameter controls the max feed rate? Thank you,
  15. I dropped a spread sheet named Fanuc Offset Variables.xls on the FTP in the Apps_files folder. After I run a job I copy my fixture work offset values to the start of my programs. The next time I load the program I run thru the variables once and populate the work offsets. Got tired of calculating them so I made a spread sheet. Fanuc Offset Variables Click "Common" creates the following, paste in program and enter the offset values. #2500= (COMMON X) #2600= (COMMON Y) #2700= (COMMON Z) #2800= (COMMON ect. G54 P14 #7261= (G54 P14 X) #7262= (G54 P14 Y) #7263= (G54 P14 Z) #7264= (G54 P14 ect. Hope it might help someone.

  17. I think it was originally due for release in March of 05.
  18. Just wanted old tried and true for a quick tweak. Great now I will have to read the documentation. Debugger looks interesting will have to dive into it. Thank you.
  19. Using an X2 updated to X3 mpmaster based mill post. Turning fast mode off did not make the post code out the information. Does fastmode still work in X3? Is fast mode in X3 working for anyone. Tried the original post in X2 worked fine. Thanks
  20. Had the same problem on a Mori NL2500SY. Ended up projecting the text to the far side ID instead of the OD of the cylinder to get good code. Text was not mirrored. I hope this makes sense. text->()coded backwards (text->)coded correct
