what we do is on our server we have a folder for the customer ex: boeing then folder with the part # or print# then in that folder would be the cad model the mastercam files our setup sheets instuction sheets and any documetation certs... etc and our photos of the setups and fixture location from the fixture shelfs the sales guy could first check the server to see what is done for a part # or what needs to be done its not perfect but it works some guys dont always do all the nessasary steps to keep the job fully documented but were tring ...also check out this web page im tring for this software for our shop for setup and assembly www.techviewcorp.com
when ever i do engraving i use contour, window then window around geo to engrave then pick at one end for the search point then it does it wala try that o yea cutter on the center line
then definitly check out the haas toolroom mill we have one great for this type of work... just get the high speed look ahead for the elecrode work... and for around 25000 your set i dont think mori makes this type machine?? but i could be wrong it wont be the first time i also saw a few othermachine tool builders jumping on this band wagon best of both worlds some manual work some cnc automated work and real easy controll with a new conversotional option we like it for what it is
