it rips!!!! the IT guy told me the card is worth$$$ more than my old computer so far its great it makes for some very happy shop guys before this we only got enginering hand me down computers we finally got it through to managment that the shop need power boxs too!!!
thanks iowajim i set data to 384000 and toolpath allocations to 256000 and i dont get the error message but im only using 661.3 mb and the it guy said the windows is set at 3gigs???i was always told to set these numbers to 80 persent of total ram???but anyway ill stop whinning because nomatter what its set at it RIPS and its about time the shop finally got a decent box
anyone with a thought on this we have our allocations set to almost half of our available ram??? what good is the 1 gig if it wont let you use it???help
we just got xeon 2.8 ghz with 1 GB RAM SCSI 320 controller and a 18gb 160 hard drive with a 3D labs wildcat video card. The problem we are facing is when we try to allocate more than 592 of the 1024 avalible megabites to allocated memory we recieve a memmory allocation error value was reset to previous value.
i think the positioning idea sounds good !!we use linier axis slides on our packaging machines and do accurate postioning for filling and stoppering all controlled with a plc maybe you could build your own setup at an affordable price???
how about doing the engraving under a differnt work offset?? maybe g56 and in the offset page tell it a axis is-90. then it will give you code as if it is at a0 but you told it in the offset page to be at a-90 ????
we have that same g49 in our startup and never saw this??? in fack at the end of the programe it outputs g49 z0 before m30 and nothing like heading for the table ever happens???/
ooops ive already ordered with this setup will it be a big problum????maybe they havent shiped yet!!! thought i had it when i stayed away from the ATI card thanks !!!anyone use this card???

we made a quick easy fixture locator pallet using on our reciever pallet 1/2-13 threded inserts with a .625 id drill bushing over top and on the on off pallet milled and c-bored for a .6245 od stripper bolt the bolt goes thru top fix c-bored below top and into bottom pallet locating thru drill bushing into 1/2-13 thredes 4 or 6 locator per fix and it works great and cheaper than other systems we saw hope that helps ???
