  1. you CANT read an SLDPRT directly from sw2003 their on parasolid v14 an mcam is v13.2 untill around the first of the year !!they can save it as a parasolid x_t version 13 then you can do it or they can save the file under sw 2002 [ 12-02-2002, 05:29 PM: Message edited by: MACHINEMASTERG ]

  5. ive been using v9 sp1 solids and now im getting this .. no matching op file error BUT it still extrudes the chain ????

  8. have you tried mpsubrep from this site it works great for that we just modifed ours to output m97 p000 a local sub call out and the subs are n000 to keep all programs under one program number and turned off seqence numbers this works in v9
  9. your solidworks designer is giving you different configs for the same part number ex.. family of part just three different configs for the same basic pc! yes you will have to convert by trial and error unless the designer tells you what config before you convert we do this here dont complane before v9 it did not even show the configs

  12. i belive the nc defaults to the nci name you will have to edit nci destination in your ops manager before you post hope that works???
  13. we cut alot of plastics here an i always climb mill but for plastisc i conventional mill the finish pass- better finish and no little hairs on surface- kind of wipes it clean
  14. is this matl in the green state??:? (unhardened)try pvd or diamond coat carbide ??ive never cut this but have heard of this at another company and they said they cut it alot and it got into the ball screws and it ate things up !!try vacuumeing chips up as you cut!!

  17. on our older haas the max feedrate is 300. ipm but depending on setting 85 max corner radius it may never go that fast if your ruffing with meat on for finishing you can set this to like.02 if you have like .05 on the part if your tring to finish we set this to .0005 so even though you programed it for say200. ipm it will only go as fast as it can an still maintain an accuracy .0005 our new haas has high speeed look ahead and it makes all the differance in the world NO JERKEY movments id say on that older haas stay around 150 to 200 ipm try that to start

  21. not only have ive seen the dog and pony show but ive used camworks briefly yes it programs your part for you but not the way i would do i it makes redundent tool s and tool changes and yes you can constatly fix the way it works but i found my self re doing this over and over so why not doit right the first time in mcam and save off to libary to use over and over mcam rocks camworks not also they programed a part that i do alot it ran 40 minites longer the my mcam way the the guy says change it to how you would do it isnt this just re programming again sorry for the rant !!!

    does this team travel the country ??just wondering when it will be racing on the east coast?? i live less then 1 mile from an nhra sponcered track i would love to hear that thing run thats right hear that thing run i did say less than 1 mile
  24. the place i work for is not a job shop so our rates are alittle high but our basic all around shop rate is 75.00 an hour to 4 axis we dont really do any thing 5 axis or really outragess work were an oem these prices are for replacment parts our enginering rate is 120.00
