Having never tried that before, will the program load in the machine with the tool list before the % and program number? And I agree on the setup sheet.
I got the screen shot by going to SettingsConfiguration and then of course FilesAscii.
The mcamx.config and my custom jimzconfig.config both show it as,
2101. ASCII files? C:MCAMXDATA
Thad,
I think I found what he wanted also. That pic is from X obviously. I did open my old V9 config files and they all have the same.
405. ASCII data path? c:mcam9data
Edit: found it in X config
2101. ASCII files? C:MCAMXDATA
Ron,
This what you are looking for ?
Or are you looking for a data path that is setup for Vericut only ? I'm not sure if I am helping you or not. I couldn't find anything in any of my posts that showed,
405. ASCII data path? c:verisurfdata
I would think you could set the path as shown below to anywhere you wanted.

CNCPAREDES, shoot me over an email containing your sim# and I'll be happy to help you. HAHAHAHA never gonna happen Paul
I liked your post before you edited it btw
Welcome Mike alot of knowledge available here.
The question mark ? on the various toolbars and pages throughout Mastercam are a very useful self help tool. Whereever you are in the software when you click a ? will open Mastercam Help for that topic. Very Cool
Yeah Jay nice to see you over here instead of always being on CNC Zone
chopsley,
do what justin said but first open your part program and do a file merge. merge in your solid model file in the correct location and save the file. now run verify and pick the solid as justin said.
Try moving the circle geo to the desired depth in this case -.500 and try extruding again. I prefer this method as it also allows me to pick the geo for toolpathing and it is already at the correct depth in the operation.

Are'nt there any interns around cnc that they could throw some mill tool catalogs at? Better still would be for CNC to approach all the major tool manufacturers and request CAD data to be implemented into a new tool library that is built by an intern. And then holders and tool libraries that can be used to build tools for a real simulation.

I am in and out of MC9 200 times a day. What are you doing wrong and have to fix ?
That's 25 times an hour or every 2 minutes, how can you possibly need to do that ? Are you making 1 toolpath programs or what ?????????

I'm just trying to coax a 9.1 guy to make the switch HAHA Good Luck, was at a shop awhile back and they still have V6. Yeah we got Mastercam come on over and check it out. WTF !!!!!
Yeah it only imports the toolpath geo. If you wanted all your geo you could use File/Merge and then import toolpaths and toolpath geo. You would need to setup your files to have separate levels for all the geo used for the part wireframe and toolpaths.
Go to Settings/Configuration/Cad Settings.
Once there check to see if EA Manager is checked to Active, If so uncheck that and save your config and try importing a file.

Holding the Power On button while starting up and moving the machine from an overtravel condition with the Handwheel(MPG) has fixed some Fanucs I've seen in the past.
Here's a great start. Matt's $1500 rig is also the fastest. You'll need to add a Case and fans to the price.

The tax increases aren't a done deal yet. But what do you say when the Sacto idiots have already given illegals driver licenses, health care and welfare ? There wouldn't be a deficit if the Socialists in power weren't giving away the farm.
