  1. We get a "reporting computation error" when running any of the "opti" 3d toolpaths. We were originally having this error on a new machine bulid and could not work out why. Anyway we did a full system re-install when we built an identical sister box. Fixed the error and was all good until yesterday , now the same toolpaths won't regen on one box but will work fine on the other identical box !!! Have tried to get some direction on this with CNC software , but seems to be in the "too hard" and "its a hardware issue" department
  2. you can download the verisurf tools for free, pretty sure they have been available before X4 ? do a search on here. separate off the hole surfaces, use verisurf to generate the hole axis on a separate level, select these axis with window, colour etc and there you have it
  3. same here tried "tool change" in every way I could think of before I posted the topic. Thanks to all for imput
  4. Hi Mike From what I can tell you are correct that it needs to be setup in the job setup parameters before you open verify. I can see this being a pain the the a** when verifying molds and trying to work with the latest stl you have just saved out from your last verify session. Although the improved speed of the verify will probably offset the extra time required for the additional setup.
  5. What do I change to get the colour loop to default to "tool change" ???
  6. And make sure you get it right. Just had this issue for the last couple of weeks with no real help from CGtech or reseller and then when I spent some time investigating the issue myself I noticed that the install documentation for the environment variable's is not right. The install directory on our windows 7 boxes is now "vericut 7.2.3" not 7.2.3 by itself , and once I changed this in the variable's it fixed the opening issue for both X6 & X7.
  7. You have to approach your reseller for any files previous to X7 now due to a licensing agreement due to the new verify - this is my understanding anyway.
  8. Is it just me or is the 2D High speed Blend mill tool path extremely lacking in it's "High-speed" abilities ? No high speed linking on Zigzag No retract (whoops just realised I didn't have retract set !!) or back feed option for one way - in fact on certain instances the back feed cuts the high spots, so not exactly "one way" cutting http://s787.photobuc...t]=1&sort=1&o=0 No arcing lead in/out Nice way to machine up to a wall from an irregular shape but contour with multiple passes seems more high speed Would be great to see it have the abilities of say the Peel Mill tool path p.s. how come my image doesn't show up ?
  9. Thanks for the reply Colin. As mentioned I have sent it through to QC so hopefully will be logged as a request. Thought it was good idea to start the forum topic too to hopefully gain some support for my request, knowing that CNC software are actively monitoring the forum now
  10. Wish I had that luxury !! But yes the tools in vericut are what matters most to us too when using it to prove 5 axis programs. The interface between mastercam and vericut needs a lot of work in this area too. Cgtech have told me in previous versions that they couldn't do any better due to the lack of information in Mastercams tool manager. I was hoping that the new mastercam tool manager would allow CGtech to do a better job of transferring the tool data from mastercam to vericut, but after seeing how basic it is I have my doubts it is going to make any difference any time soon.
  11. Please help me to lobby Mastercam to give us the ability to create "neck relieved" cutters as a part of the standard cutter creation in the new tool manager. We cut a lot of moulds and medical and use this style of cutter on a daily basis to reach into deep pockets/features. I am sick of having to create custom geometry for what I consider an "industry standard" cutter.I actually can't believe that they didn't include it when building the new tool manager. I would like to see the ability to create cutters in a block building fashion, similar to the holder creation. This way we could create any cutter shape we need quickly and easily without being constrained to the basic end mill/slot drill shapes. Something that really causes us a lot of wasted time is that as it stands now we have to create these tools with custom geometry in mastercam and then do the same thing again in a different format to be able to run the program through vericut. If it was a standard mastercam cutter it would transfer to vericut as part of the "mastercam to vericut" interface , therefore saving a whole step in the process and saving users of both these systems a lot of time. I have emailed QC about this now and previously, but it often feels like requests fall on deaf ears. So the more people requesting the more chance we have ! Please help.
  12. Hope you checked out Team NZ thrashing Luna Rosa while you were there. New machine arrived yet ?
  13. How about waterline, with corner rounding ticked and add cuts, set your min step down really small and your max step over to 0.5mm and that will eliminate the large step over on the shallow floors.
  14. I like it so far. a lot quicker and I can have it verifying in the back ground while I continue working. Only question is can I get rid of the work piece wire frame? I want to just see the stock i'm cutting ?
  15. We often back drill our shrinkfit holders to allow longer mould and die style cutters to be shrunk further in without having to shorten them. Just be aware of shrink fits with balancing screws as sometimes you can't drill these due to the depth of the balancing screws.
  16. Where can I find the X6 mu3 download, it's not on the mastercam website under downloads anymore ?
  17. I did try a search, as always, but didn't come up, cant have used the right words. Thanks Anyway
  18. Hi Aaron I am trying to view these from the web site but my WMV tells me I am missing the correct codec, what codec was used for compression ? Thanks
  19. Hi Oscar Thanks Yip know how to get them the old fashioned way, but you can't beat the 1 click of verisurf hole axis ;-)
  20. Are these available yet ? Need to be able to create hole axis in conical faced holes and the new mastercam solid hole axis tool can't do it, so back to the great suite of verisurf tools ;-)
  21. haha Mike, that was before I had vericut and I learn't very quickly to just stick to the good old "rapid to clearance planes well above the job" settings instead of the high speed just miss the work piece stuff !! Thanks for suggestion Colin, I do prefer that method when using the 5 axis toolpathes.
  22. I can't believe it, finally this basic issue that has personally caused me crashed machines and gouges in expensive mould tools and I have complained about many a times has been fixed - whoo hoo.
  23. i'd just use NX and be done with it
