  1. this thing is taking off! there is a link to it on a local radio stations website and people in the town forum for our local paper are talking about it. amazing how fast some things spread!
  2. that player better give it back and ask that it be retired!!!! that would be the noble thing to do!
  3. i hope the nfl does the right thing and dedicates the season to his memory. good to see that ASU is retiring his number(hopefully the cards will as well). may god have mercy on his (and all soldiers) souls.
  4. we use what i would call a variation of what chris and james are decribing. and to be honest, i'm pretty sure it was demanded that the machines be set up this way by the customer once they heard our concept. We are a high volume machine shop and just about all our jobs run in "cells". most have 2 haas verticals with possibly a drill press but not often. a few are set up with a haas vertical and a mori horizontal with wash tanks and gaging tables all in the "cell". we do have the ability to change these "cells" quickly from one job to the next and could very easily move from one cell to another (know this from experience). so i would agree with james on this point even though our "cells" may be different. of course chris has a point to: if your running small quantity setups, it may not benefit you as much.
  5. i'd love to but like i said earlier..... although i do have a cousin who i haven't seen in awhile that lives in san diego. how far away is this place from san diego?
  6. if he publishes the full details of his findings, isn't that like giving the answers to a test to the students who already are cheating?
  7. keep it up james - (i'm talking about the good work!!)
  8. sounds awesome james... unfortuneatly it's in Cali. i'd have to get divorced to move out there and i really enjoy seeing my kids !!
  9. where do grocery store clerks make $19/hour? i need to move there - i would be getting a raise changing careers to a clerk! the grocery clerks here in my area are getting laid off. "A" teams are way more family friendly. we have the West Michigan Whitecaps here and it's a blast. similiar prices as james stated.
  10. Peter, i think it has a lot to do with supply and demand. as long as owners are willing to shell out the money, and fans are willing to fill the seats, then the player salaries are justified.my tigers are a perfect example. last years team couldn't even have been considered a MLB roster -rather AA or AAA at best and it showed in the stands. this year they go out and sign some older established players and instantly ticket sales are soaring compared to previous years. i personally believe Pudge, Rondell, Jose, and Carlos are all worth every penny they are paid this year simply because i at least feel like the tigers have a chance of winning every time they take the field. while it's true smaller market teams can't compete with larger ones, i'd bet baseball overall is pretty popular right now. and if owners were to lock out players again, don't be suprised to see them resurface in China or Japan (based on the interest of the handful of games played there). ticket prices for decent seats are pretty reasonable actually. like james said, try going to the movies or even other "pro" events like wrestling or monster truck shows. it doesn't have to be MLB game, we have an "A" team locally and it is just as much fun. don't get me wrong, i don't believe any professional athlete (or CEO) is worth millions of dollars for their service, but in today's world you can't blame them for taking advantage of it - i know i would if i had their athletic skills. steve... so how'd that big league career of yours go then?
  11. right on james.... that is why i'm coaching it at the high school level (2-0 so far by the way). hell, i'd settle for being a role player at the major league level- i'd take the minimum salary any day to watch a game i love (even for the tigers!!!)
  12. ...with carbide endmills sprouting from every branch...
  13. it is only beneficial if your boss intends to update everytime it changes, otherwise it isn't a wise investment (maybe this is your bosses logic). (i'm still using V8.1 )
  14. its from the emastercam forum, it looks like a face...
  15. jay, thats what i was afraid of. we are having all sorts of problems with our email system kicking things back to the senders. unfortunately, we contract out our IT guy from a company in town. he's real good at what he does but it takes forever to get him in here. should i delete that link or will it be ok to leave it. it doesn't matter to me either way. thanks
  16. jay.. did you get my email? wasn't sure if it went thru or not. we had email problems today.
  17. i'd love to see a matchup of the duke vs uconn six on six with 3 players from the men's team and 3 from the women's team. i think that would be an awesome matchup.
  18. thanks george, i'll try that.
  19. i want in on the graemlin act : oops!
  20. don't be sorry charles, you are entitled to your view of the subject. actually i agree with you on some points.
  21. i think you guys are right - they are blanked entities. if i unblank them before changing levels, can i get them blanked again fairly easy. seems to me i remember trying this before and having a heck of a time getting my original feature back to normal.
  22. When i move an object from one level to another, it leaves behind entities in the original level. why is this? what are the entities? how do i move them as well? basically what i've done is create a directory of components we use from enerpac by downloading them from the website and saving them as MCam files. when downloaded they all come in on the same level. what i've done is taken each component and moved it to its own level and resaved it with the level in its name. that way this component will always be on the same level regardless of which file i read it into. does it matter that those entities are left behind? thanks in advance!
  23. can't even remember the last raise - it's been a long time. i fall underneath the pay scale mentioned above and i also program the CMM's. i'm starting to think i'm getting the raw end of the deal. scots right, since 2001 michigan has had over 150,000 people told their jobs were moving out of state -900 announced last week). so maybe i'm not doing so bad. i just don't know.
