  1. somename 75, I have had a look at your file, and I see the gouge in backplot and in verify. If I do a regen on it, it is fixed correctly. cmr, zero, and thad; 2 things that I do BEFORE any toolpath generation are: screen, next menu, combine views. This fixes any arc flipped conditions, and I also anaylze, surfaces, test normals, and check model. Fix anything that it tells you that is wrong.(if you are using solids, anaylze, surfaces, check solid). In this case, I did all these checks, and it "combined" 94 arcs. However, I do not think that this would help you, because I deleted all the geo except for the containment boundry to see if one of the flipped arcs was causing this problem. It wasn't. One thing that you are using that I would not, is the "create arcs in xy" in the rough parameters, total tolerance settings. I know lots of forum members use this, however, I don't because I have seen too many errors on **dal machine tools. After trying all this(some might help you), what Gilberto says, also might help. Bruce
  2. Does screen, change attributes, line width help? Bruce.
  3. In your system configuration , in the cad settings, do you have write blanked entities checked? Also maybe try checking, Output CR/LF. Bruce.
  4. Are you using autocursor? Try turning that off and selecting the centerpoints manually. Bruce
  5. Try this. I found it with a search for "regen button" http://www.emastercam.com/ubb/ultimatebb.p...5235;p=2#000064 Bruce
  6. How do the dnc systems work with restarting in the middle (or anywere) when you have a toolbreak using remote request? Thanks, Bruce.
  7. MetalFlake, I downloaded your file and it regened the toolpath no problem. All it asked was for a start point. One thing that might be causing you trouble, is that some of your arcs are "flipped". Try screen, next menu, combine veiws. Bruce
  8. Have you guys tried screen, blank, unblank? Check the levels that you are using. Usually by default, when you do a stock flip, the flipped geo is offset by 10 in the levels and blanked. I just edited the geo of a part before the stock flip. If you need to include this "new" geo in the 2nd op after the stock flip, delete the stock flip and reselect the geo to be flipped. Then regen the 2nd op.
  9. It depends on the shape that you are cutting. Adjust the step over, or try a different roughing routine. Inserted tools like a full cut. You can get a higher feed rate because more inserts are in contact with the material. Bruce.
  10. Hi David, A larger step over would be better. Your rep is right. Try 70%. Bruce.
  11. Murlin, not sure if this will help your second question, but Bryan314 has some good info in this link. Bruce. http://www.eMastercam.com/ubb/ultimatebb.p...ic;f=1;t=001033
  12. Bill, Have you tried analyze, surfaces, test normals, all surfaces? If that is ok, try analyze, surfaces, check model, all surfaces. I ALWAYS do this before any surface toolpaths. Bruce.
  13. I'm guessing that it is not a "real router". I think that it is a 3 axis gantry style mill with a wood router head attached. If this is what it is, check the posts area at the top of this site, and look for your post processor. Bruce.
  14. Thanks Thad, I know a couple of guys who will like this. Bruce.
  15. mold100, Here is a link to the site. Make sure it is for your mb. http://support.intel.com/support/motherboa...03081-prd36.htm Bruce
  16. Richard, I just created a surface in Rino 2.0 and saved it as an iges file(flavored for mastercam) and read it into mastercam mill6.13a (file, converters, iges, read file) If you are saving as dxf/dwg, you will not get any surfaces. Bruce.
  17. Rob, he will try an air blast. The walls are vertical, and this only happens when it starts to get deep, -1.0. Tapering the walls a little sounds good. Chris, he just placed an order for a 4th axis AND a horizontal, whatever comes in first (not). Thanks for your ideas. Harry, the material is some kind of aircraft stainless steel(magnetic)rc 38. Bruce
  18. Rob and Chris, He is using a carbide roughing end mill. It is a blind cavity 2.5 " deep. He has tried demagnetizing the block of steel. Thanks, Bruce.
  19. A customer is machining magnetic stainless steel with a roughing end mill. 1.25 dia. x .2 doc + coolant. The chips are sticking to the tool and are being recut. Any ideas on a better method? Thanks, Bruce.
  20. I have had this happen to a file this week. Just did a couple of dim's and notes. Without even saving the file, just looking at another view and then going back, it was screwed up. Tried to print the file, and it was garbled. When I saved the file it did not seem to make a difference. Will try the fix above. Thanks Bryan. 9.1sp2
  21. cncME, In screen configure, change your system tolerance to .002 TEMPORARILY. Then read in the file and it will remove all the .0001, .00151, .00171 lines. Save your file with another name. Restart mastercam, and read in your file.
  22. screen endpoints yes/no It will not create the points along the splines automatically.
  23. jspangler, check your email. This is cool.
  24. Paul, Try this http://www.newsontool.com Maybe it will take too long to get to you.
  25. Gail, Did you create the stock boundary in mastercam, or did this come from another system? If you zoom in as far as you can at the intersections of the arcs and line segments, you will see a gap. This is still a problem even if you analyze the gap, and mastercam tells you that there is no distance.
