Windowing works great. But I have found if you pick each letter and keep teh tool in the letter until you have finished it. The engraving time is faster and tip lasts longer because of less plunge moves.

I have a post for a Kitamura. It works great. What I need to do is if we are only working at B0 it puts in no rotation. The operator would like it to call up B0 to make sure the tombstone is at B0 in case he rotated teh tombstone to look at something.
Thank you for all your help,John
Yes that is just what I wanted. But now I need to figure out how you did it. You had 4 points, a point tool path, a locked contour path, a drill cycle and a contour path that wasn't locked. Which points did you use for your point path.( is there a way to tell?) It looks like the locked path from Z0 to Z-3.5( sorry I'm doing this from memory I can't get on your FTP site from work). I know the drill path but don't know about the last contour path. It posted out great but I kneed to be able to duplicate it for 5 holes with 3 diffrent tools.
I will try to make this fast.
Deep drawn round can welded onto an flange. Have to drill and spotface can side of flange. We have found we get less marking on side of can if we drop down away from the side of the can. Move to position. drill and spot face. move away from side of can then retract Z. Is there to get MAstercam to move to position before and after a cycle without having to write it in long hand???
Thanks Ron. That did it. Now I just have one line I need to get rid of.
code:

And it only does it on the ist tool?
I am using "generic fanuc 2x lathe.pst"
I program canned rough cycle then canned finish cycle. the problem I have is this
code:
( ROUGH OD )

Z.0616

if I put the X 1.8 into G0 Z.0616 making it
G0 X 1.8 Z.0616 it works. is there a way to force the x move into that line??
quote:
the five fundamentals never change...
speed
feed
rigidity
depth of cut
coolant
This is so true, but what has to be taken in to consideration is a change in any one of these can have a great effect on the others.
I'm trying to use Lathe Canned Rough cycle. But it starts at Z0 and throws up an alarm. But if I turn on Permanently change to longhand. I'm confused. Is there a way to make it start at least .025" from face so I won't get the collision alarm?
mpsubrep.pst will do it for you. You can also set it up to do a block delete on the last 2 subs. This way you can prove out the program on 1 vise then run all the vises.
