Dave, not trying to be a smart a$$. But when you rotate a view, it is a new view and has to be named or mastercam won't know where it is and you can't use it for anything. And no you are not screwing up.
Yes Ted is correct. If you don't use one of the standard views you will have to rotate it and use a new name. I even copy the standard views and name them the op # i use them on. That way if I have 12 ops I don't have to remember which one is which.
X+ is what I use. It put in all the information the guys on the floor want. And wait, it is customizable. Gunther did a great job on it and has kept it up to date thru all the changes in mastercam and gives it to all of us for free. SCC1, most of the people on the board use X+ so please show Gunther the respect he deserves. You might like Active Reports, but you don't have to slam X+!
JM2C!
Got G76 to work in the post. Thanks all.
I think I'm going to have to do it the way Bryan suggest, to get the bottom bore. What is point tool path??
Thanks again!
I have a Kitamura post but it does not have a G76 boring cycle in it. I looked at mpmaster and tried to do it that way but just posted a G83 cycle.
I did a search but everything that came up seems to already have the cycle in the post and people just needed some advice.
I'm trying to bore the top of a hole then shoot thru and bore the bottom of the hole. I didn't want to write it log hand because I don't want to back bore all the way out.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Thanks, if you want just throw it back on the FTP site. or you can email it to me . Thanks for looking. We are starting to do a lot more work that needs surfacing. I will be very interested to see how you did it. I'm just to the point where I don't know the best way to do some of the harder things.
Thanks again
I have a part that has a conical radius. There is a is a square boss the stickes up in the middle. So I have to surface around the boss. i used surface high speed (area clearance. Then surface rest mill. To finish the surface I used surface flow line. It works but when it gets to the boss it jumps over the boss every time it goes back and forth. What I would like to do is just go around the outside of the boss. Apperantly I'm not doing it right . What would be the proper method of doing the surface? If I'm doing anything else wrong please tell me. I got it all to work I think but that doesn't mean it is the correct way. I need way more work on surfacing.
Thanks for the help in advance.
If anyone wants to see the file its on the ftp site in the X4 files folder "test surfacing connormac"
Received a solidworks file from customer. could not merge it with another file or open, Said could not find Parisolid data in solidworks file. Opened in solidworks saved as step file and merged it. Now I can't draw a line below Z0. Even if I pick mid point of an existing line that is a z-.25, it starts the line at that location in X and Y but z is at zero???
I am running 2 monitors. When I open X4 I have the drawing window open in the left window and the Op manager open in the right window. Works great every time. BUT if I minimize X4 then maximize it, the Op manager shifts over to the left monitor. It worked correctly in X2 but started having the problem with X3 and X4.
I'm tired of dragging it back over to the other screen all the time. Is this happening to anyone else or is it something to do with my computer?
