  7. All you have to do is tell the remachine op the tool size used before instead of telling it previous operation. There are radio buttons on the remachine page to do this. HTH Connormac
  8. I always try to include the rev# in the program name.
  9. If you can make the post do like Paul says. Use a VB script and post to both machines using the different post to do the different machines. This way you don't have to ask any questions and it is done for all machines.
  10. Put in a forced tool change till you get it fixed. That way you will be running till then. jm2c
  11. I have a part B0 on my tombstone. Programed from centerline of tombstone. Plus it moves 30° and -30°. Now we have a big order and I want to run parts in the 180° side of the tombstone also. How do I transform tool paths around the tombstone. Just so you know the way the post is set up B0 is top not front. Using X2 mr2 sp1. Thanks in advance for the help.
  12. I try to change the MMD and it won't do anything.
  13. I can change from a HMC MMD to a VMC MMD but I can not go the other way. Is there something I'm doing wrong or does MC just not allow this to be done?
  14. I think I will try the gear chook. Thanks all for the quick response.
  15. I need to draw a involute spline, 30 degree pressure angle, internal. The print seems to give me all the numbers I need according to the Machinist Handbook. I just don't know how to go about drawing it. I have to create a DXF for the wire edm shop. Where do you start?
  16. Jay, had a hard night last night. Please don't scream at me.
  17. Thanks all, I'm trying to make it work.
  18. I need to slow the feed at the start of every corner then speed it back up on the walls of a contour. I did a search but could not figure out how to do it. I know you go to change at point but... if I get it to slow down I could not get it to speed back up where I want it to be. I a past post it talked about breaking lines but it does not seem to work or I don't know how to make it work. Could someone please clarify the rules of change at point? Thanks for the help in advance!!
  19. I have a different stop position set up for my different table lengths. We have a 30", 40", 50" and 80". On the 50 and 80 I have the post set up so I can have more than 1 stop position at the end to make it easier for the operator to load and unload parts.
  20. No I just set it for the slowest machine. That way I know that everything will work. When I first got on I asked the same question and that was what someone told me to do. If it is really special that I have to run high rpm or it is to long to fit on the small machines I have a VB Script that I can tell which machines to post for. Someone was talking about setting up a post to slow the speeds and feed down to the max rpm of the machine but there was a lot of logic involved in and I didnt know how to do it. The only machine that gives me any problem is our 7000 RPM Okuma. It will not read anything over it's max RPM. So most of the time I use it as the default machine. If it runs there it will run on any machine.
  21. I put the tool on the FTP site in the tool folder. Do I have it drawn right? 196 face groove tool.
  22. How do I get mastercam to understand both sides of the cutter. It is only seeing one side and cutting groove to wide. The rest of what you said worked well. Thanks
