We just got a 18 month contract for a group of parts. Of course they want new proto-types by the end of the month. Waiting for 2 other companys to sign 2 more contracts. Right now it seems to be hurry up and wait. But at least the owners aren't talking about lay-offs any more!!!
You might need to go in in the verify window. There is a Yellow folder right above the man walking called "Options". Open it up and under stock options pick the file radio button. Then pick the STL file in the data folder or where ever you put it. This usually fixes the problem. HTH
I think newbeee is correct. We had to have service come out and change our timer for the same thing. I think it was in the keeper section of parameter.
What is CNC suppost to do. What would happen if they found a bug just before the release. That would be known bug. What then stop the release. Then have everyone upset about no release. Most play with it, Usee it , find work-arounds until the fix comes out.
I my opinion you are not a machinist unless you can operate a manual lathe and mill. You need to understand what actually happens when you climb cut vs. conventional cut. You learn why the cutter is making the sound it is making. All of this relates to how you will program a part. Everything works on the computer. JM2C.
See if you can have the laptop down-graded to XP Pro. That is what I'm running on my laptop. And our IT guy also had it done to the computer he bought me for work.
Old habits die hard! Long time ago someone on the board gave me that way to do it and it worked well. At the time I think circle mill had a problem with this very issue. I'm not sure. But I have been using it for a few years. I also use it to come down in the middle of some slots. Like I told you the other day I needed to start using circle mill.
For counterbore.
(Counterbore Dia - cutter dia.)/2 *.4142= X
use tangent radio button and put "X" in the length
in arc use "X" and 135° sweep.
This will start and stop your cut in the center of counterbore and won't alarm out on you
Ok everyone. You have all said shrink fit is the way to go for long reach. If we sign the contract we are suppost to next week, we have told the owner that we have to go shrink fit for the extended reach. I need to have some choices to propose.
I know Iscar makes a unit. Someone has a Ingersol on the board.
This is kinda of one shot deal. I don't want to get one and three months from now figure out I got the wrong one. Any advice would help.
Thanks in advance.
Tony in that didn't work.
sav_rot_on_x = 1 #SET TO 1 FORCE B OUTPUT WITH NO INDEX
is not in my post.
Jay, yes we go from top and rotate around y axis. I'll have to check about what the post is set for. Our resaler sent it to us.
I do know if you go at least 90° then back to zero it will put in the B0. but anything less than 90° you have to put in B0. For now I just set up a misc int to have it put in B0 when I need it. I'm a danger to myself.
I tried to use the rotary axis button because my post was not putting in B0. It put in B0 after that but reversed angles. I need my post to put in rotation every time. got to work on that
Thanks Tony. Your numbers look about the same as mine. I think when a previous op was done they got the angle holes off so no matter what, the pocket cannot be in the right place. thanks for looking.I will let you know what I find out. Looks like I might get to work this weekend on rework. I hate rework!
I have this part set where it is in the tombstone from the centerline of the tombstone. touched the tool off and offset is correct to centerline. I have 2 slots at a angle +33.53° and -33.53°. I rotated the tombstone 33.53 both directions. Just to check I rotated around X 90 degrees and the bottom of the slots I am milling are flat so know the rotation is correct. But for some reason it does not machine correctly. I checked the numbers they seem to be correct.
It verifies correctly. Its Friday!! If you what to see the part it is in X3-files on ftp site. "Kitamura rotation problem". Thanks for all the help.
Thanks I thought I was going crazy. I will try circle mill. Thanks for looking John and all. With circle mill in the past the control would alarm out that I was trying to turn comp on or off in an arc. Guess I will have to learn about that now.
