  1. Cimco DNC Max Wired here with over 45 machines and everything works like a charm. We are not wireless because it was not available at the time of purchase and we do not want to change something that works.
  2. Concord, Are you talking about a Toshiba machine with Tosnuc control? If so we use this line to retract both the W and the z axis: G73 Z[V1203] W[V1204] V1203 and V1204 are the values specified in the controller for the reference point #1. V1204 is equal to 0. Hope this helps,
  3. Charles, I would go because you can learn so much in one day that it can save you a lot of hours after that. That is what happenned with us. The training was great but the VUE explained how to save even more time... HTH
  4. We had the same problem here. What we ended up doing was to creat a custom macro that rotates the table and calculates the position of the part after it is rotated. It's basically just math calculations using the center coordinates of the rotary table center and the coordinate of your work offset. Just use machine coordinates and all should be good. HTH
  5. Wu uses Sandvik's single point tools for this kind of job and it work great.
  6. Thanks Harnad, I got it working on my XP 32bit system but I can not find the mcviw.dll file on my XP 64bit system. Is this a file that is suppose to install by itself or do I need to get it somewhere?
  7. quote: That capability is provided by MCView.dll. Use the Mastercam X control panel applet to register this dll. Could you please explain how to do this as I can not find where I need to go to register the .dll
  8. Chris, With that material I woud also consider an OSG tap Tin Coated in the HY-Pro series. We use them day in and day out withous any problems. [ 01-29-2010, 02:24 PM: Message edited by: marting ]
  9. We use Emuge tools and the info from their catalog are pretty much on the spot. We have made a custom macro here to have it run. The thing t consider with these tools is that the lead in move should be done at half the threading feed. HTH
  10. Did you run the update post chook?
  11. Ron, I had a talk with CNC software about this issue and the solution Gcode gave you was the answer I got. Theyr have the same issue with several converters and they know about it and are working on it. You can also use file -> Merge and it works. HTH
  12. Just a thought here, Is you control definition configure to allow arc in all the planes? It did bite me before. HTH
  13. Torr Man, Without having seen the part, I would suggest a contour toolpath with the ramp option turned on. I have had grest success with it. HTH
  14. quote: Remember, all X4 or X4 MU1 third-party add-ons or CHooks need to be rebuilt with the Mastercam X4 MU2 SDK. That being said, Does anyone have tested the Verisurf add-ons, the AI solutions Chooks to see if they work properly. Also do any of the Vericut users has theste the interface between Mcam and Vericut 7.? Thanks in advance,
  15. Hello all, Is it possible to have mastercam get a decimal tool number? Ex: T90.26 This is fou our entegrex that has that kind of tool calls.
  16. Thad, Actually, it is done in a one step process. the name of the command is: Edit arc start angle. If you go to setting → customize and you select Ai Solutions in the category, it is the 4th icon from the top. HTH
  17. Look at this: Link Takashi posted a link for the beta version. I have it installed and it works great and you get an option to do what you want. Hope that helps,
  18. I use it to define taps. If you check taht box, you get to enter the pitch instead of the thread per inces in the tool definition page. Other than that, I have never used it.
  19. CLD, In order for us to help you, you need to tell us what the errors are. When you post, you get an error log. Take a closer look at it at start modifying you post from there. You might also post the content of the error file here so that some of us might be able to help you out. Have a nice day,
  20. Rickster, To change you op defaults, you can also go in the properties section of the op manager, click on files and open you default operations file. JM2C
  21. Rickster, You can also go to the Solidworks website. They have a page that lists all the video cards that were tested and approved. They even give you all the drivers that are approved for that particular card. I got an ATI card that was approved by solidworks and it works very well with MC. Link Hope that helps,
  22. Gunther, What exactly does this app. do?
  23. Billet, That is done by modifying both the control definition file and the post processor file for your need. If you do not feel comfortable with this, you should get in touch with your reseller and he can probably get it done for you.
  24. Billet, I created a custom drill cycle in Mastercam but in backplot/verify, you see the tool going as if ot was a drill. Not perfect for checking purposes but it works great in the programs. Hope that helps.
