We just went through a complete rebuild on a 1999 model 67 thermwood and all I can say is this machine is a new machine it is significantly faster than it used to be and thermwood did a fantastic job on it. We have had no complaints with there work. 91000 controller is a definite step up from the 9100.
I would say they are the real deal they look like they are heading in the right direction and looks like they have some smart guys in leadership. But what do I know
Depends on what you want to spend for money you can contact thermwood and find out if they have any refurbished machines and you can get one for 1/2 the cost of a new one I'm running one now and it runs like a new machine. Their controller is very easy to use also I think. The tramming is not fun, once you are used to it it is not so bad. And their service is top notch in my book. But they know me by first name.
Thermoform plastics Incorporated is looking to hire a programmer to program 5 axis thermwoods and a makino gf6 using mastercam (9 & 10). They are a large vacuum forming company that has been around for a long time. This position would be a leadership role with engineering design work would be a big thing also. Just trying to help the old boss out they treated me pretty good also.

the above is the contact for the job if any are interested. It is in White Bear Lake Minnesotta.
The newer machines have a better belt setup they have bands of metal (radials )in them they are alot stouter than the old ones. Howard that gear change out is not fun we will be doing that this week also on one of the machines we cut fiberglass on. Isn't there a tram adjustment for the error you are seeing? You are running a toolchange machine right?
I couldn't tell you who wrote this post originally it was here when I started work here and I added some stuff to it for my liking. I am assuming it has some age on it, but it works pretty good for version 9.1. May just have to spring for an updated version 10 post.
O.k. everything works great for 3 axis work but when I do a 5 axis path the positions are all wrong and this is a post that I ran through the update utility for X.
I ran my post throught the update utility for version 10 and I'm comparing the nc files from version 9 to 10 and I'm getting some variation from program to program. Anywhere from .002mm to 1.7mm got any idea's what I have missed?
I need some info on a 5 axis waterjet that can be programmed with mastercam we are taking on a lot of customers with finished gel coat and using a thermwood does work I'm just looking at options or room for improvement. Thanks in advance.
