  2. It will be in Joplin, MO and Pittsburg, KS they have plants at both locations and no it is not the same company but I may be making some trips to the carolina's anyway we'll hook up again Jimmy and I will be off and on in here also.
  3. Just wanted to say that I will be relocating to a new job in the next couple of weeks back in my stomping grounds of southeast Kansas. Have to get my family back to all the relatives they are all missing them terribly and this job came up and we have to go I don't want to move my kids when they are in high school. I will be using mastercam still at the new one also. So I'm not gone for good. I want to hear some of the your guys storied of relocating also good or bad. And Harryman we will have to meet for Tacos at Casa Lupita and you will have to come here for your tour.
  4. I like that laser cutter that thing was flying:)
  5. Just wanted to say happy father's day to everyone and have a good weekend. Get out there and play catch, go fishing, boating or something fun like that with little ones. Also Dads take a little time for your self too. You deserve that also.
  6. Can you change those settings to be the default and where do you do that??
  7. We do this a lot and geomagic is the way to go. We used to use faro digitized data and still do alot of the time but sometimes it just isn't good enough. To choppy and too much time spent cleaning it up after the fact. Just like anything else though if you have junk to begin with you will get junk out or a lot of work involved to make it right.
  8. We have 13 four station rotary vacuum formers and 17 CNC trimming machines in the plant that I work in and we run the entire plant with 8 30 h.p. pumps, with 4" pvc line, and a surge tank on every rotary and an extra couple of tanks in the back of the plant just to give you an idea how the big suckers make it work:) and we hold 28" hg on a consistant basis have to have tight molded parts.
  9. That is what this forum is for Marv welcome to the forum. Nice 1st post. I would zone your vacumm areas also this helps in more holding power than one huge area cause if you get a little leak the part will lose all holding with a large area and reject part. I use the 1/4" round gasket and cut the track with the machine about a 1/4" from my trim and leave a little of the gasket sticking up above the surface suction cups are nice too.
  10. It is in the screen, configure, nc settings, tool display, and then check repaint toolpath. Turn your caps lock off also please no need to yell:)
  11. What did you have in mind?? I'm guessing something flat right. There are some programs on your machine if I'm not mistaken to cut out some dinasure skeletons out of wood or plastic sheet stock look in the fun pack directory. Have fun if you need some other stuff let us know I'm sure their will be people chiming in soon.
  12. I drive about 15 miles sometimes it gets backed up on 35E but when winter is here which is half the time some people can't drive to save their life.
  13. Nice first post simple2. Don't diss the man that won't make any friends here. His actions speak louder than anything. His helping everybody in the way he does should say enough.
  14. cool opportunity for some one for sure. I'd bite but I think my wife would kill me if I put her any farther away from home then she already is. It would be cool to learn some stuff from the Crazy one:)
  15. Glad to help it makes me feel good to help someone out and contribute to this great communitiy effort. Where are you at Grand? And what company do you work for? I'm originally from Joplin, MO moved up here and am working for TPI.
  16. I did that all with surfaces you create a curve on the edges and then extend the amount of the run out in the direction you want to go, then trim to the edge of the part and create sweep surfaces or coons depends on if you have 3 (sweep) or 4 (coons) curves to construct the surfaces with. I don't have solids so I don't know if there would be another way of doing that with solids but like anything else there is probably an easier way of doing it. That file took me about 15 minutes to construct keep in mind I have been doing that for about 6 years though.
  17. Grand, I goofed around with your file a little and if I was to make a male thermoforming tool with 1/2" run out I would do it like the file on the ftp site in the .mc9 file as BD122 moldmatt.mc9 forgot to zip it sorry webby.
  18. Mastercam + solidworks = good combination
  19. Couldn't you change your default units in screen, configure? Haven't tried it but wouldn't that change the dimensions.
  20. I think that is the plan any way it is friday and I'm looking forward to the weekend roughing as we speak and it is doing fine took real shallow cuts on the roughing operation.
