  1. I assume the slot is wider than the tool your using. Other wise if the slott width and tool dia are the same use Contour. Jay is right, create a point where you want it to start. When the Pocket command prompts for the chain, pick the point first, then pick the chain. Same works for Contour. Mike Mattera
  2. Backup, Backup, Backup. If you dont have a DVD burner on your system , get one. Copy the whole damm C:Mcamx folder to a $2 dvd and THEN install your update. CNC cant possiblly test for every possible configuration in the world. Be smart about how You do things. If you have a business to run and this software's performance is an important part of it, Be Safe, Be Smart & Backup BEFORE you install an update. Mike Mattera
  3. It's good that you "cut the cord" to make your transition to X. But you can still run V9 if you want to. If your having trouble running V9 you need to get the Drivers-x.zip file from the Mastercam.com site. 4. It's just like the spokes in a wheel. The further you are from the center hub, the larger the gap will be at the outside of the wheel. Set the offset to the inside radius of the elbow and make your angular step smaller. Try using a Smooth Gap transition. 5. To create a flowline effect you can use Surface - Finish - Project Blend (Finish Blend for X). It creates a flowline "style" without the constraints of the "Flowline" toolpath. Mike Mattera
  6. " Whats "X"? " I think it's short for ecstacy. Mike Mattera
  7. Multimedia Video Rotary Training for V9 & a New CD for Mastercam X. http://www.tipsformanufacturing.com Mike Mattera
  8. I always thought people counting the number of "posts" on the forun was silly. But I just looked down and saw "899" and then I thought "Oh What The Heck". Please join me in the meaningless celebration of my 900th post on the emastercam forum (and the crowd goes wild). OK I'm done being silly now Mike Mattera
  9. You purchased a license for one PC. You need to buy another Draft to run it on another PC. You need one Draft for each PC/Person using it. Mike Mattera
  10. Posts can be timed. All Integrex posts cost $. if you didn't buy it, I'm sure it was a 30 day trial or something. I hear the In-House Integrex posts are the best. The cost of the post is insignificant compared to the cost if a $200,000 machine that's not running parts. Mike Mattera
  11. First Select Your Machine. Then... Control Def. - Tool - Add To Tool and set the Length and Diameter to Zero. Then, H & D will always be = to the tool number. Mike Mattera
  12. Is there supposed to be a number afer the decimal point? or Is the position X1.000 Y-1.000 If it's decimal point programming that's all you need. Does the code run in your machine? Or are you just trying to make it look a certain way? More zero's wont make it more accurate. Mike Mattera
  13. What Pete! Do you need more information than that? Mike Mattera
  14. Create a library. Bring in all thise tools. Any new tool you select (from the std library) will have a new number. Mike Mattera
  15. Open the post with your editor Find the progno$ variable in your post and create a line like this.... if progno$ = 0 , progno$ = 1111 put this line in right before the... "%" *progno$, e$ This might be in the pheader or psof section of the post. You lines might look a little different, but the basic meaning is the same. Mike Mattera
  16. No one from CNC can list or talk about my training cd's for fear of getting their balls handed to them by Greg. They were very helpful in the past (and I appreciate it). But no one wants to get yelled at and I dont blame them. No matter how good these Training cd's are, it's not worth the verbal abuse they would have to endure. Thanks for the referal Steve. Mike Mattera
  17. What machine, what post, did you import a cad file, draw it in Mastercam, is it 3D , 2D ????? Mike Mattera
  18. You brought it in with a Merge. It creates a Named Group. Groups are RED. Click on the word "Groups" in the lower right od your screen. Select the Item you "merged" in and hit the Delete button from the menu (your not deleting the geometry, just the named group). Now Go To.... Settings - Config - Colors and pick Group Colore X Use Entity Colors. That will stop it from happening in the future. Mike Mattera
  19. Is anyone reading Rhino native files into Mastercam? Mike Mattera
  20. Is anyone using the Rhino converter? Mike Mattera
  21. 3D Tips & Tricks. Great Idea. For people learning 3D & others who just want to know more about doing 3D. http://www.tipsformanufacturing.com/html/3d_-_milling.html Mike Mattera
  22. MR0105 (January 2005) has everything for the last release of V9. Mike
  23. Are you doing arc filtering? If so are you doing IJK or R for the arc moves. Mike Mattera
