You have a Hasp 3 . You need a Hasp 4.
Mastercam has been telling us for 1 year now to check and get these updated before X is released.
Go to the web site . Download the utility (DONT FILL IN THE FORM YET). Run the haspinfo.exe and it will tell you if you need to update. Iy will also give you a code you have to putin the update form.

Mask on Arc - Pick an arc - Press the "ALL" button above the ribbon bar and select Arcs. Predd the Green button on the right side of the ribbon bar. Actually I put the Green button under my right mouse button to make it easier to select.

Your getting a window because you clicked on the screen. You cant use "clicking on the screen" as a way to exit a dialog box (as you did in V9). Esc or Enter or the green check box exits a dialog.
Pre-selecting is Wonderful.

I dont understand why people would want to pick something manually when they can select it by just pointing. What could be eaiser than just moving over the endpoint to select the endpoint. How could picking another key, with your mouse of menu, possibly be easier?
Maybe your just getting too many choices.
Above the ribbon bar there ia an Exclmation mark Icon ( ! ) that says Config (when you mouse over it). Pick that and turn off the snap functions you DONT want to use. This lets you be more selective about how the autocursor works.

Dude: In the future you might want to start by telling us what you want to do, in the form of a question. "How can I create editable text in my drawing?".
This tells us what your hoping to acheive. From that we can come up with solutions. Because, as usual, Mastercam does do what you want, if your using the right feature.

You wont get the Green sim to work with XP. You will need to update.
BTW: "Please Help" is not a topic.
"Installing V5 on New XP PC" is a topic.

The inner working of the development cycle may not be considered viewiable by the general public.
I would say no. And is mostly because of the X Rated stuff. .
Ron is right. So much has changed, it wouldn't be as useful as you think.

That's what cracks me up about everyone complaining about X being late. Most people use about 10% of what Mastercam can do. Except for the really advanced useds they use 55% .
It just does soooo much. I've been learn something about V9 all the time.

Did you update the post?
Did you set your tool numbere sequestial?
That will fix your Offset number matching.
Did you select that Machine Def befor you staryed programming the toolpath? of is this an old job brought into X.

A Roll Out Seminar is not the same as s Class. A Seminar, You sit and watch. A Class you participate in using and learning X in front of a PC. We do both. We charge for the class. As I'm sure most dealers do.

Dont pick all the operation. Just pick the face. Then do another Transform (or copy the first) and then select the second Op and so on.
If you say transfor and pick all the Ops. It does all the ops and then moves to the next part.

ShopWare received 80 boxes today. Now I'm not talking about the little boxes customers get. I'm talking about the BIG box with all the little boxes inside. So lets say there are 10 little boxes in each big box. That's 800 Mastercam X updates.
So for all you Illinois & Wisconsin customers, Get signed up for your regional seminar, See X and pick up your box.

Brendan: Yes. Working on a "Moving From V9 to X" CD. should be done by next week sometime. With a few basic pointers, I'm sure everyone will be VERY comfortable with X in no time.

I'm telling everyone they should run X in 1280 x 1024. This is an Engineering Application. This is the high end of computer graphics. This is the reason they keep building faster computers. I'm sure there are NO designers that run their Sworks, UG or Inventor at less than 1280 x 1024. I cant believe that anyone serious about running Mastercam is still running on a 15" monitor. I run X on a 17" and a 19" and it looks great on both.
It's called progress. It's also important to note that CNC didn't make these changes lightly or on a lark. These are changes that users and the industry have been asking for. They took GREAT care to implement as much of the standard interface as possible. They have also implemented some new key commands that make navagating the system even easier. I Really Love X!
Of course there's room for tweeks. But CNC has created a stable platform with modern OS functionality. Depending on the age of your PC you may want to make some hardware upgrades. New Cars Require Better Tires and Better Roads.
